The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

That is cool mgmCube.

In case others are wondering why the Seimitsu LS-56 Main Guide does not fit on Sanwa JLF with out modify:

With the octgate you also have these bumps that won’t fit into the switches. And the holes aren’t perfectly aligned, but it still fits. It would be better to cut off these pointy bumps.

Hi, I’ve been reading most of this thread and was planning on eventually modding my SE, but something has happened recently which may have accelerated that process. What I want to do though, is first identify if this is a problem with the parts, or with the main pcb (if it’s the main pcb…there’s no point in modding it).

Recently, a few of my buttons have become unresponsive, where they will still work, but not 100% of the time. I’ve noticed this problem for the last week or two, but it’s starting to get noticeably worst now. I do not see my turbo lights going off, and unplugging/plugging my stick back in does not fix the problem. Can I safely assume my buttons are just going bad/breaking, and thus replacing them will fix the problem? Thanks.

You can try cleaning the buttons out. http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=198566

See if that works out.

So the only way to fit Seimitsu PS14G buttons in here is to make the button holes wider?

Naiera wasn’t able to insert his Seimitsu PS-14-G.
But maybe because he did not push them in straight?

I don’t know.
He never updated the Thread he made.

Thanks, that’s the same exact problem I had. Only a small part fits in the button hole, like where his arrow indicates. So people have been able to fit these in?

I did update the thread recently when I received some green PS-14-G’s. It was the same problem as described in detail in the thread, and as shown on the picture; the buttons only go in to about where that arrow points, and this is in sharp contrast to how easily the older buttons I have fit in my SFIV SE. As mentioned in the thread I also tried them in my VSHG, and it was the same problem. I even received a shell for a custom stick recently, and the bad PS-14-G’s wouldn’t fit there either.

I did indeed put them in straight. It’s almost ridiculous to suggest that I did not try this, to be honest. I’m not trolling or reporting this problem to rag on Seimitsu or anything.

If you look at these poorly made PS-14-G buttons from above it’s quite plain to see that the space between the rim and the plunger is larger than on the good ones.

nm found my answer

Oh yes.
For sure, I read the whole Thread.
The Seimitsu PS-14-G Green part also.

By update, I mean if you even got them in your Case.
You just say that they did not fit.
But you didn’t say if you eventually got the Buttons to go in.

Anyone can push Buttons in.
I only put in if you had them in straight because it was what masturfader typed in the Thread.
You never came back to the Thread to tell him that you did put them in straight.

Naiera, I’m on your side.
And now I look stupid for seeming to think you of less.
Thinking that you did not push the Buttons in straight was not even my thought, and never became.

It is hard to tell online.
I only typed all that because to me it looked like I was attacked or called out.

You didn’t have to tell me anything about that.
Tell that to those who do not believe you.
Direct that to them, not me.

I’m only here to help.

Alright man. I never did try to force them in because I want to be able to take them out again one day. I’m fairly convinced that they’re not going to come out again if I force them in there with a hammer or something, and that’s what it would take. The good buttons more or less just slide in there, while these poorly made ones stop after the rounding just above the connector.

I’m used to some sites where most users wouldn’t think twice about calling people retards or whatever in threads like the one I made about the PS-14-G’s, so please forgive me for jumping to conclusions about your intentions with your earlier post.

Same problem with my red button and black case seimitsu buttons, I ended up actually sanding the buttons down which took like 5-10 minutes a button. After sanding them down even the bottom of snap part. They went in smoothly but only 4 went in flush wit the face of the se stick. I will probably take the others out and sand them down some more. I suggest drummel if you have one I particularly don’t own one and don’t know where to purchase one, canned air to blow the plastic out of the button. Good luck

hey guys, modded my ps3 madcatz stick a while ago. but i’m thinking about dual modding it. i’m not sure if this is the right thread to ask in, but if i buy a madcatz 4716 prewired pcb, how do i go about installing it? i know you can’t just connect stick and buttons to both pcb. it seems so simple with the cthulhu board for ps3. i’m pretty sure i could figure out how to dual mod a 360 stick using the cthulhu board, but i haven’t been able to find any literature or tutorials on how to dual mod ps3 sticks using the madcatz board.

I cant take off the connectors off the madcatz buttons. How the hell do you guys do it, I tried tweezers but the damn thing is too weak.

I used a small screwdriver to LIGHTLY open up the connectors that were clamped on too tight. Then I was able to lift them up with ease. You should only tug by the metal part though…

Back off the connector cover and get some needlenose pliers on the thinner part of the connector then rock it back and forth along the flat dimension of the pin while pulling. The rocking motion is the key and will help lots. You can use your fingers with the same technique just don’t pull on the wire or it might pull out of the crimp.

Hi guys!

Just wanted to ask some things from you before making my decision…
So, I own a SE fightstick for xbox360 and i was thinking of modding it. So far im gonna go with 8 x Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons and a Semitsu LS-32-01 joystick. So Im asking you guys that is there something i need to know about that semitsu joystick? (Will it work with se? Do i need some additional parts? Is it hard to install? Is there a better choise for a joystick?) And so on. I have watched a few tutorial vids of modding the se fightstick and I think those have helped me a little. Thanks for help in advance

Question about the LS-32-01. I just installed this stick into my se box and i was curious about two things. The stick seems to be working great but is it suppose to be so loud? It seems twice as loud as the sanwa stick. Also the blue little gate thing that is attached to the PCB, is this plate necessary or can i remove it. It seems a little redundant

Have anyone tried installing PS-14-GX snapin buttons to a SE stick?

re: the recent discussion about problems around PS-14-G snapins

Is this just a bad run of recently produced buttons or are all PS-14-G’s issues fitting into the SE easily?
