I hope we are referring to the same 4 spots. They’re the 4 red spots:

yeah you can use the bigger screws on the mounting plate corners where the red is. Hopefully your JLF will come with a mounting plate already mounted to the JLF. If not, I put the screw sizes a few pages back that you can get as replacements at ACE Hardware or Home Depot.
hey guys… did you have any problems trying to put the sanwa buttons in the holes? the madcatz enter without problems, but I’m having a really hard time to make sanwa fit T_T
:u: Check the tabs for the Sanwa buttons, you can either file them down or just force them in.
hey man I also have screw ins… can you include a photo of the last button please?
Yeah they take a little bit to get them in. I do recommend that you don’t push them in from the button, rather from the rims. I used tips of my thumbs to push them all the way down and they finally got in right.
I tried to search in this thread if someone had successfully modded a LS-56 in the SE.
did someone try it ?
I ordered my SE stick yesterday from game.co.uk
Didnt wait around to get a feel for the SE’s insides so i ordered from Gremlin Solutions, got a Sawna stick and buttons, got a nice nob for the stick too.
Should all come on tuesday. Gonna make a mod video for youtube i think.
A mod video would be great
Im also getting a JLF from Gremlin but they only have the 8YT in stock and you have to rotate the PCB with that one… shouldnt be too hard
Hey Elrasho, did you get a dispatch email from Gremlin yet? I don’t like it when they don’t give you any updates with online orders :annoy:
No matey, I haven’t ordered mine yet. Im thinking of waiting until the JLF-TP-8Y-SK come in stock so I dont have to rotate the PCB… it looks easy to do but Im not good with electronics.
If the stock SE stick starts playing up then Im gonna have to get the 8T I guess Are you getting an Octagonal restrictoe plate too?
Nah sticking with the square gate for now. Getting annoyed with my execution, I don’t know if it’s just me or the stick, or probably both. I can’t seem to do jab, jab boom wth!
Switching the pcb around takes 0 electronics experience and is just as easy as popping of the restrictor plate and turning it and putting the plate back on. If you can change to an octogate, you can change the PCB around.
As far as octo vs square I knew above all that an octo gate was going to be better then a square. I ordered one and it lasted for about 5 minutes before I put the square back in. I am just used to the square now and would never use happ or octo again if possible. I just had to learn not to ride the gate and my moves are very succinct now. It take some adjusting and felt weird at first but just stick with it. It took me about a month to get used to it but it is so worth it.
Thanks for answering my question.
I can’t wait for my parts to arrive! :wgrin:
It’s really not that difficult. I ordered a SK from LL, but I guess they only got the regular 8Ts, so that’s what they sent me no biggie. I just wanted a JLF. I didn’t want to be the asshole that complains Anyway, the PCB rotation is real simple. I don’t know shit about electronics, but I just rotated it 90 degrees to match the stock stick in the SE. For some reason I thought you could rotate it wrong or something, but it came to me that only if you put it in upside down would the pins stick out to the right any other way, which would be really dumb. Just get the 8T if you can, I wanted the SK because of the shaft cover. lol. You can always just buy that later. That’s what I plan to do.
Anyway. I have a question as well about buttons. I was playing on a Tekken 5 cabinet on Saturday, and knew the stick was a JLF (well, I don’t know for sure, but I think it was) and the buttons, I’m guessing, are Sanwa OBSFs? They felt really different from the stock buttons on the SE. They felt “lighter” if that makes any sense. It seemed like they weren’t as “deep” either. I didn’t need to press down as far as the SE buttons. But they were just as, if not probably more, sensitive, but “lighter.” I really like how they felt. They seemed to be smaller though; not 30mm. Does anyone know exactly what buttons they are? I want some of those in the right size of course whenever I get buttons for my SE. Thanks.
Waiting on my parts to switch out the stock parts on an SE. Question: What’s the best gate to get for this stick? Anyone know what the SF4 cabinet has?
SF4 uses a square gate if I’m not mistaken. Sanwa sticks come with one out of the box. So you should be good.
those are the 4 small screws in the center of the plate that holds the black part to the shaft correct ?
my sanwa joystick (JLF-TP-8T) and buttons came, but the joystick didn’t come with the restrictor plate like it was supposed to so i’m just gonna use the stock stick restrictor plate.
edit: just got back from the hardware store and had the screws removed (couldn’t get them out myself) and got replacement screws and washers that was equivelent to the originals.
Anyone triewd getting metal or nylon washers for the se rubber feet? When I screw them in tightly it goes pass the rubber feet. But iif I don’t screw it in to fit, if you rotate the feet the screws turn…
I’m having problems taking the balltop off. I did the instruction what it told me to do. I put the right size flathead on the bottom of the shaft and I twist the balltop counter-clockwise and it won’t budge. I used all my might and still nothing =(
Am I doing something wrong here? Any suggestions?
