The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

I have a problem my Light Punch isn’t responding at all ! Anyone had this problem befort, is there a way to fix it ?

Thanks for the help, things went very smooth for me!

check the wires on your light punch button, make sure you’re getting a good connection between the quick disconnector and its male counterpart

if you’re having problems getting the quick disconnects off, dont be too afraid to use some force. JUST MAKE SURE YOU PULL ON THE METAL NOT THE WIRE. i have pretty rough hands and i used enough force to scratch some skin, the best method i think is to jiggle it a little bit here and there but not too much because you might bend the metal. i know some slide out like nothing and others are bitches but try each with your fingers first, if you really cant get it try a small pair of pliers.

best advice though with all of the wiring is to be patient, don’t get angry and if you do just take a break. if you go to far you might just break something. remember these disconnects were made to come off. quickly.

I…think I might of gotten the wrong size buttons…they don’t snap in, I push them down and they don’t go in all the way. :frowning:

edit: I see the problem, it keep hitting these small random bumps near the top of the button, they can’t go in. :frowning:

double edit: though I got the type is says in the op…maybe I’m just a failure…

ima post some more detailed pics because i had the same problem minerva, just take a small file like one for your fingernails even and do each small bump prolly like 3-5 seconds of solid grinding each.

after that they are a breeze to pop in

Just put in my new buttons, still waiting for my LS-32-01

Just finished my stick and button swap. Just so everyone knows - if you use the stock mounting plate you may need to replace the screws and nuts that hold the plate to your stick. Mine actually snapped in half and I almost panicked. However, Ace Hardware carried screws and nuts that fit accordingly. It cost only like $1.25 for 4 new sets and I highly recommend getting higher quality hardware because the stuff that it came with is very crappy.

I think this has been posted elsewhere but it would be helpful to have it repeated: what screws/nuts do you ask for at ACE hardware?

I apologize I didn’t actually take note of measurements. i just brought in the old screws and nuts and told him I wanted something of the same size.

You either really have to jam them in there, or file down the little bumps on the sides of the button. They don’t fit easily.

screw - size m3, .50 pitch, 3-10mm
bolt - size m3, .50 pitch

they are in the metric section and have m on the box (my ace hardware had them in a cardboard box that was white with blue letters)

Hope this helps

I used pliers, they came off easy after that and the Sanwa buttons work perfectly :).

I used pliers as well for the tougher ones. Most could just be pulled off by hand though.

well when i pulled out the dc from the buttons i used pliers pulled the sucker off, then loosened the dc with a flat head and i just put it right back on no need for tightening it, just slip it back on.

thanks! filed um down and they fit like a charm.

If you’re having a hard time getting QD’s off just stick a small flat-head screwdriver between the button and the QD and wiggle back and forth (twisting the screwdriver clockwise and counter-clockwise) a little bit. This will pop the QD right off – no need to destroy your fingers to rip wires out of the QD’s.

this

I’m using OBSF-30’s at this very moment and I’m having a VERY hard time getting them in, I’m scratching the sanwa buttons pretty bad just trying to get them in should i grind away a little bit at the little parts that make it so hard to get in?

Edit:Just grinded them down its good to go.

i had that issue as well

attempt 1: brute force. that didnt work out too well, i somehow ended up snapping one of the tabs, but button held in fine.

attempt 2: if you look closely on the buttons, theres 4 small grooves that kinda stick out…i grinded it down slighty w/ a nail filer…buttons snapped into place fine after that.

i suppose something like wd-40 would work as well…in very small amounts.

+1

worked very well…saved me so much time too…i seriously struggled for 15 mins trying to pry off the first QDs with my barehands…i flew past the other buttons and was done in like 10 tops.
