Vtec whayt type of mounting plate are you using on the ls 32 01 I ordered one with an s plate. Will that work?

Yea the S plate works, Go back a page and read The Burnin8or’s walkthrough.

When installing the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK, should I glue down the washer to be safe or do I not have to do this?

You don’t have to, glueing it down might give you problems later on if you ever decide to mod it again.

I’m new to this and have a couple questions, I appreciate the answers too.

  1. Are swapping out the Madcatz parts for the Seimitsu parts(stick and buttons) the same as swapping out for Sanwa?

  2. Do PS-14-KN’s fit on the Madcatz Fight Stick?

  3. How do you get images in your PS-14-KN buttons?

  4. Is there a tutorial on how to remove the ball top and replace it with another top?

Hey I just recently modded my stick and all of a sudden im starting to get random start screens when im hitting my buttons or moving my stick. Does anyone have suggestions to this problem, or did I ruin my stick

Is modding this stick really that easy?? What kind of damage can I do to my stick if I mess this up? Any help would be appreciated.

Haha the only damage I inflicted is the damage to the pins on the stock buttons when removing the QD’s from them. Gosh I swear I must have snapped at least 4 or 5 pins when trying to remove the QD’s.

Bump to get some questions answered… Hopefully…

@TDM
Above all else, use the search function and actually read the threads. Even Googling should get you answers.

  1. I don’t know if the mounting plate is the same but you should be able to get a Seimitsu in without a major problem
  2. Yes. 30mms
  3. Disassemble the button. There’s a link in a thread; might even be this one.
  4. Flathead screw on the bottoms of the stick, twist balltop CCW.

I probably shouldn’t even have given answers given that a basic search should give you answers but there you go.

On topic, when you’re modding your SE stick, be careful with the QDs and the actual stick removal from the mounting plate. With the QDs, I used a small flathead to gently push the QDs off the buttons. And when removing your stick from the plate make sure you use a screwdriver that fits it perfectly and keep pressure on the screws so they don’t strip. Those damn things are soft as butter. If I had them around my house I’d replace them with decent ones but I was careful enough to not cause any major damage to them.

^Thanks for the answers! Greatly appreciated.

Real big noob to modding sticks (and this forum, obviously)

I just got my JLF-TP-8YT and 8 buttons today. I got the buttons installed okay, however the stick…

It’s most likely extremely simple, but I CAN’T FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out how to mount the plate (the one that came with the JLF) to the stick. Incredibly stupid, I know.

The screws simply don’t seem to catch any threads, seem too small…Maybe i’m doing something wrong? Also has 4 nuts with the screws. I tried taking off the stock mounting plate from the SE, but as many of you know…the screw and stripping are a huge problem…got 3 screws off, and one is stripped to oblivion.

Anyone enlighten me on this matter?

This happened to me, I got 3 of them but stripped one. My solution? I took my extra soldering iron and melted the plastic (cut it out essentially) Then took two pairs of pliers and removed the screw/nut.

you need to take the nuts from the stock one (mentioned a page ago I believe) and put them in the same spots so the threads have something to catch.

I only used the 3 I could salvage and it works just fine.

So any 30mm buttons would fit into the stick perfectly?

ah, I don’t have a soldering iron to do any MacGyverish things. Only thing I can think of is going out and getting some super glue to glue the screwdriver to the stripped screw and seeing if that will work.

But really, I don’t understand why the mounting plate (THAT the JLF CAME WITH!) has no way to screw in. Do I have to remove the PCB in order to do that or what? Really odd design to me.

Happ/IL buttons won’t, only Japanese buttons will.

Er… I have a JLF, and I just put the screws in the holes and screwed them in. Are you seriously having problems with this? O_o

Then they must have gave me the wrong screws if it is supposed to be that easy, ahhhh well.
