The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

If your stick is getting stuck either replace the entire thing at the store or fix it yourself right away. Do not power through it, or “deal with it”. You are further damaging your stick.

It’s recommended just to get a Sanwa or Seimitsu stick anyway (20 bucks on Lizardlick).

I have a thing for the Seimitsu stick due to it’s use in Cave shooter cabinets. But either should work for you just fine.

Finally got a SE today after work and spent the last couple few hours working on it. Xbox360/PS3 compatible, swapped in Sanwa parts and swapped in some blue leds for guide button.

Zombie that is rad. Can you elaborate on how you mounted the Cthulhu board?

So buying the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate would work, correct? I didn’t see that mentioned in this thread, and even though it is mentioned in the official MadCatz Controller Thread, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting something that would not work.

Thanks in advance!

Just to be sure I get the LS-32 not the LS-32-01, right?

Sweet zombie!

Does this help

Yeah, I was on there and just wanted to make sure. Sorry to be a newbie, I am just nervous and want to make sure I get the right thing. I am also going to order the Sanwa push buttons if they are in fact quieter.

I thought the LS-32-01 would be the way to go, unless you can use the existing stick’s wire harness.

Sile What JFL stick did u use?

Does anyone know if I can replace the microswitches in the SE with Cherry Microswitches with the quick disconnects or do I have to solder them on?

Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch

Sorry, new guy here. I’ve been reading quite a bit…but was curious if these buttons would work from Lizard Lick. They might be a pain because they are threaded?

Thanks!

I’m surprised he took that off the first post since he addressed this and since removed it from his initial post.

He actually got those Pushbuttons to work, but there is a problem with the lower-left botton closest to the stick. (PS3’s “X” and 360’s “A” button)

The nut itself is kind of thick, and it ends up making contact with the mounting bracket with the stick. The Sanwa nuts are very, very thick and are difficult to file down while the one you listed is a bit easier to deal with (much thinner plastic) so yes. It is possible, but not without some elbow grease and a filer on your part for that one particular button.

That said I plan on getting them as well, and just going through the effort, but you’ve been warned by yours truly!

Here is a thread talking about it a bit.

that doesent matter. the 01 has the 5 pin the JOYSTICK so you can connect the existing wires from the pcb.

I just want to thank you for putting this up. I’m not happy with the buttons on my SE Fightstick and this thread make sit look so simple I think even a moron like me can do it.

I think I’m missing something, I see the OBSF-30 buttons, but I can’t find the JLF-TP-8Y or JLF-TP-8YT stick on lizardlick, just the JLF-TP-8T

Help?

I thought the SE stock stick was much much better than the EX2. :wonder:

Nothing too fancy, I just took the stock terminal strip out and place the Cthulhu board in the same spot. I used some hot glue to secure it in place.

I think you might have typed this too quickly as it doesn’t quite make sense, dude.

After 2 major problems while trying to mod my SF IV stick. I have a successful ls-32 = ) Buttons are stock for now. I want to keep the color scheme the same, so gotta wait for those black and white sanwa buttons =)
