The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

This might sound ghettoish but you could cut off the SE connector side you need leaving like 1-2" of slack wire then solder those 5 wires to the end of your new cable in proper order and tape seal the solder joints. It should work fine but not very pretty.

Stick Wire1-------//--------SE Connector
Stick Wire2-------//--------SE Connector
Stick Wire3-------//--------SE Connector
Stick Wire4-------//--------SE Connector
Stick Wire5-------//--------SE Connector

All depends on aligning the correct wires to the SE connector.

// = Splice and connect

Yeah the two cables for the trigger buttons were loose, and after playing for 2 hrs neither of the buttons cut out.

If the problem does happen again, I will follow up, and will mostlikely call Mad Catz

Finally got my Sanwa parts in and opened my SE for the first time, and the mod went absolutely painless. It took a little bit of trial to realize how much force was needed to push the Sanwa buttons in. Other than that, and a couple of slightly stripped bottom plate screws everything went very well. Nothing spectacular looking, just white snap on buttons and a dark hai ball top with a shaft cover. But when I play it, man oh man is there a world of difference. I never realized how fast Akuma can throw fireballs. The in air hadoken with him was impossible before, but now it’s second nature. Wakeup attacks and throws just work. I just press the buttons and move the stick and I get an immediate and predictable response on screen nearly every time. Just floored with the quality of these Sanwa parts. And thanks to Mad Catz for making this shit so mod friendly.

Used the mod to put my Sanwa stick in. After LizardLick fills all of their 21st orders(It’s been like 5 days omgsssssssssssss) I’ll have my buttons on the way and open it up again.

does anyone know if its possible to put on a jlf bat on a ls32 stick?

Yes as long as you have the adapter, it’s pretty universal.

sweet thanks. i wasnt sure didnt want to waste money on it…

yeah thank you

having hard time gettnig the ls-32-01 into the fightstick. its like the screw holes are smaller. do u have to use different screws?

are u trying to just use the mounting plate? if so, just get a drill and a drill bit and the screw head will come off

Has anyone tried to change the microswitches on the stock stick to Cherry Microswitches? I imagine this will greatly improve the performance of the stick to near Sanwa Quality.

I am thinking about doing this myself to replace a stock hori stick. I find the construction of the stick to be perfect, but the switches are crappy, clunky, and don’t properly depress.

If you know your way around soldering then it’d work fine.

I’m having trouble removing the balltop. It doesn’t want to unscrew. When I put pressure with the flathead it still moves around when I twist the balltop. Help?

Turn screwdriver right, while turning the ball left.

So basically I was wondering how to install the LS-32-01 on the SE Stick…because I flipped the PCB and placed it where it was supose to be at and tried to screw it down the screws only go in HALF way…do I need new screws?

Hmm if u dont understand this im basically trying to install my LS-32-01 with the original mounting plate that came with it…apparently the madcatz screws the one with the washers dont fit in the horizantal sockets where the LS-32-01 is suppose to be placed right unlike the JLF which is installed vertically and screws are installed vertically…I KNOW the screws aint stripped…

I can install the Madcatz Stick back on with the screws but with the LS-32 the screws get stuck while screwing in so I assume the screw is to big or something…anyone else with this problem.

I had no issues screwing in my LS-32-01, but instead of screwing in the corners I screwed in the two middle holes, so it’s like this:
O O
X X
O O

Where the X’s are my screws. I would have taken pics of my stick, but my camera is broken, so hopefully this crappy description helps.

Edit: forums ate my spaces, so let’s use pictures!

wow I cant even screw the screws in the middle holes…

I had this EXACT same problem when I installed my LS-32-01. The screws would start to go in okay, make it about halfway, then grind to a halt, like it was starting to get cross threaded or something. I even tried using a small bit of WD-40 on the screws but to no avail. Thinking maybe a small part of the thread was bent or something I tried forcing one, only to sheer the top of the screw right off.

Ultimately, I used some screws i had laying around that seemed smaller (6-32x1/2), which screwed in fine but were of course too long. When I went back to trying the included screws again though, I was able to get 3 of them in.

So, perhaps trying a slightly smaller screw first will help fix the problem (straighten up the threads or something, I’m really just guessing here). If I were to replace the stick again, I would try some different/better screws from HD/Lowes and ditch the included screws, so maybe that’s a better solution for you currently.

That’s really strange. I will say another thing that helps is removing everything but the stick and the mounting plate (gate, microswitches, all that good stuff) and putting it on that way. With everything in the way it’s hard to get at the screws from the proper angle, and being tilted a little to the side could create the problem you’re having.

If that doesn’t work though, I think you’re off to Home Depot
