The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

Jaysis! What did they attach my ball-top with? Uber-glue?

Yeah I will look into it, it would just be a matter of getting all the parts, in the meantime I will probably call Mad Catz to see how much it would cost me for them to repair it outside of the warranty as well.

I had this same problem earlier. IN the end, the solution I opted for was just to buy a new mounting plate and use the stock stick in the meantime. Having had a look, there seems to be no damage to the PCB, so it seems my stick has beat the odds.

If you’ve knackered the screws in your mounting plate like I did*, one thing that did occur to me was you could try drilling them out. Just get the stick out and disassemble it by taking the gate and PCB off. You could be able to see clear though to the botton of the screws, but it’s not an option for me since I don’t own a drill.

Alternatively, you can try finding an alternative way to mount your new stick in the case.

  • Just the one screw got stripped! How harsh! Literally one screw between me and mounting my shiny new Sanwa stick!

Did you check the QD’s plugged into the terminal strip at the other end from the button QD? I accidentally managed to pull one of those out,

No, but I will look into that, I don’t think I ever touched those, but who knows.

I had the same problem. I just drilled the damn screw out, went to the local hobby shop and picked up some QUALITY screws that don’t strip.

To simgh13: are you using the stock stick?

Nope, using all Sanwa parts, which makes this rather depressing.

You may have, accidently. There’s a whole heap of cable spaghetti that is located right in and around the hard kick button on my stick, and presumably the other SE’s, too, I only noticed casually when I moved onto replacing the black buttons that one of the (green, I think) cables had come loose at the terminal.

It’s a possibility, I will check that when I go home, although it does not explain why the buttons work again when I plug the stick back into the 360.

will seimitsu PS-14-D-N fit?

I think PS-14-DN is 24mm and SE uses 30mm buttons so I don’t think it’ll fit. What you probably looking for is PS-14-KN or PS-14-GN. Basically look for 30mm buttons

It’s a very weird problem, I will admit. Hopefully this weird solution will work

it is the 30 mm

Hmm… thats interesting because i have that same problem, but with the stock buttons on. It happend a few days ago nothing since. Please follow up on this and see if its just loose cabling and hopefully not the PCB or w/e… If its the latter, then i might just have to send it back before i Mod it :frowning:

Just a note while we’re on the subject, I recently dropped some PS-14-G’s into my SE (I’d have a picture but my digicam died  ).

They’re in now, but they’re something like a millimeter too big in diameter and you really have to jam them in there. Hopefully I don’t have any issues with them because getting them back out will be a pain!

^ jedazero.
i got sanwas i had the same problem. i had to jam those in too. i think screw in.s are the best choice for se sticks if ppl dont feel like trying so hard to jam them in.

another topic … im having a hard time deciding. on which stick to get. i can either get a jlf or ls 32 but since jlfs are out of stock. what would be the big difference between the 2 cause im thinking about just going ahead n ordering ls 32

I believe screw-ins have their own problems. Specifically, IIRC there’s not quite enough clearance against the mounting bracket on the light kick and the bracket needs to be trimmed down if you’re going to try screw-ins.

From a joystick point of view, I dont think there’s a lot of difference between an Ls32 and a JLF, but there might be some mounting hassles, I’m not sure.

Howdy folks, new here.

I just recieved my LS-32-02 and having trouble completing the mod, all my new sanwa buttons work perfectly, just the joystick. It seems like the stock 5-pin connector doesn’t work with the LS-32. The joystick came with it’s own 5-pin connector but no female connector at the end of it. How would I go about making this work? Here’s some pictures.

this is the ls-32. as you can see the end has no female 5-pin connecter

you can see the area where it’s unplugged.

This is my first mod ever, any help would be appreciated

#7 step is your answer

Thank you very much. It works great now!
