^that’s what I’d suggest. If you’re gonna do that though you might as well do some custom art. Turn that negative into a positive. Besides, if you were going to weld (those look like spot welds done by machine) that back on you’d probably melt the art anyway.
Or you could try super glue. Lots and lots of super glue.
Oh yeah, can anybody verify that they’re using the Seimitsu PS-14-KN 30mm Pushbutton for their custom art mods for their MadCatz sticks? It seems to be the only one you can use that’s availible on lizard lick.
Some one posted a mod with those buttons a few pages back, with pics. But no custom art work, iirc.
I’ve got a question about WHICH seimitsu buttons fit, according to the stock at Akihabarashop.
There are several 30mm models listed, some snap ins, some not. So far people are using PS-14-KN which are NOT snap ins. I am going to be using these on a TE, hoping (hoping!) that the same buttons that work on an SE will work on a TE.
Anyway, here are the 30mm model numbers:
PS-14-G (Snapin)
PS-14-G-N (Screw-in)
PS-14-K (snap in)
PS-14-K-N (Screw in)
PS-14-P (Snap in)
PS-15 (Snap in)
I did not list models that simply changed color schemes here, only if the models had different installation methods or means to install.
Hopefully someone can verify which one of these models work in a SE and, for me, a TE. I thought snap-ins are the way to go, but most people aren’t using them with Seimitsu. Why?
We have a similar Selleys product over here - its a 2 part putty stuff that you mix together and it sets as solid as if you had soldered it.
Good for small jobs that dont bear a lot of weight. I used it to mend a split in a petrol tank of a Ford Falcon XB and it worked 100% so it should be more than enough strength for the FIghtstick
I’m gonna order the same thing! I’m gonna do all red buttons including the 2 last ones even though I won’t use them but they’ll be there for replacing the other buttons if they get stuck and etc.
OK guys… If it’s a 30mm Sanwa or Seimitsu button, then it will fit. Screw-in or snap-in doesn’t matter except for the lower-left button (A), in which screw-ins won’t fit unless you file or Dremel away at either the nut for that button or the corner of the mounting plate.
I think the PCB for my buttons has a dead button, any way to fix this? I tested the cable and button to see if they would work on a functional channel and they did, which leads me to the conclusion for whatever reason my LT channel on the PCB is dead or malfunctioning.
You’ll need to get a longer wire and run it from the signal point on the main PCB to the button itself. The Ground wire might still be good, but if it’s not, that’s a second wire you need to add. But you can run the 2nd wire from one of the good grounds on the button PCB rather than running it from the main PCB, so it can be shorter. Oh, and all this requires soldering.
I’m going to be buying the sanwa buttons for my Madcatz SE, and I was wondering on Lizardlick do they come 2 to a pack or single. meaning 2.45 for 1 button.
Regarding button replacement - Each button has two wires attached to it. Is that for polarity? I look on the back of the buttons and there is no “+” or “-” identification.
Button switches have at least two terminals (also called lugs); one attaches to a signal and the other to a ground. When the switch is pressed, the current of electricity is connected and the attached signal/command is engaged; when it is released, the circuit is cut and the signal is disengaged. This completed circuit is how the commands of simple joysticks and buttons are activated on a PCB board. It does not matter where the ground and signal are attached to the switch as long as the appropriate circuit is set for the desired engagement.
Thanks again Bomberman for helping me out
Sorry for my late answer but I wasn’t in town and the damn hotel wanted to charge ~10$ per hour for internet access
Good to know that Seimitsu balltops will fit the Sanwa stick, I guess I only wanted a Seimitsu stick to make it fit the look of the buttons^^
Modding my stick will still take some time because today even amazon told me that the SE stick won’t be available until sometime in April… and they had March 1st listed as a release date when I made my purchase…
I mean damn what’s up with this nonsense? It sure sucks living in Europe/Germany when it comes down to games/accessories
Is there anybody out there (living in Europe) who actually got the stupid stick?
