The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered. $60 worth of parts.

I didn’t want to spend this much, but I’ve been having so much fun with IV that I went a little crazy!

The funny thing is that I think I’ve almost spent more on SFIV accessories then I spent on my entire standup Street Fighter arcade cabinet! Ha.

Has anybody attempted to drop in the Yenox buttons that Lizard Lick offers?

I’m sure the Sanwa ones are very nice, but to me Street Fighter practically requires concave buttons for the right feel, and apparently there’s no way the Happs will fit.

From the looks of them, it looks like they are too tall for the SE. They might fit in the TE though.

Well, I just ordered some, so I guess I’ll find out. If I get’em to work, I’ll make sure to post pics.

Well, I was going to swap out the stock parts with Sanwa ones(for the SE fightstick), but about 30 minutes ago, my stick fucked up. The joystick won’t register any action regarding everything from upper left all the way to lower left. Only registers inputs from up to down, going right. Is there any point to still mod this thing since that happened? I haven’t opened it up yet to check it, but I have a bad feeling it might be the wiring…maybe, I really don’t know.

Jissai you should at least check the wiring harness, unless you’d rather go through Madcatz’ warranty procedure.

Total noob question (yes I looked at the FAQ in the OP)

Anyway to “unstick” a button without opening the casing and voiding the warranty? One of my stock buttons feels “off” and is less “clicky” than the others when it comes to how it sounds when you press it. (I know that isn’t the greatest description in the world)

Thanks.

You wanna take off a button without opening it up? Don’t think that’s gonna happen.

I just installed a regular Seimitsu LS-32 (not the LS-32-01) into an SE today. There’s a small piece of white plastic under the SE’s Guide/Turbo PCB that blocks the LS-32’s mounting plate from going on perfectly. The plate hits the plastic at its top-right corner. Just Dremel a couple of millimeters of plastic away (this can be done without removing the PCB but it’s safest to remove it) until the plate lines up properly with the mounting bracket’s top 2 screw holes.

put in a jlf

Quick question:

I have Sanwa parts on the way to replace the Joystick and buttons on my SE stick. I glued down the washer out of the box so currently (knock on wood) everything is working fine. However I like to be prepared, so my question is if the main PCB (for the buttons etc) on my unit goes to shit, what would I have to do in order to replace the PCB. I know I could replace all the parts with the stock parts and send it to Madcatz, but what is my other alternative as a backup.

my se edition finaly got to my work today

i didnt realise how big the box is tho im gonna have a real pain gettin it home on my motorbike tonight.

Lol you bet

Could someone make pictures of the stick with different color buttons and balltop so we can see what looks good?

Take apart a controller and use it’s PCB.

I don’t necessarily want to take out the button. I was just asking if there was anyway to try and adjust it without opening it up.

Like I said…noob here. :arazz:

So I would just solder each wire to the corresponding contact on the PCB? Like I said everything seems fine so I doubt I will need to do this, but I just want to be prepared if I do ever have to.

i don’t see what could happen unless magilla gorilla comes to your house and intentionally tries to break your stick.

Hi Guys,

I feel the Mad Ccatz SE stick is a little bit loose for my taste. I am considering replacing the buttons and the stick. But I have a hard time deciding which to get since this SE joystick is my first one.

I read many claims Sanwa feel loose compare to Seimitsu. Is Sanwa’s looseness similar to the Mad catz one? How are Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT and Seimitsu LS-32-01 compare to the SE Madcatz stick?

Any opinion is appreciated, thanks!

I asked this before, but has anybody tried replacing the stock wiring harness of the stick with the one that comes with the JLF? I didn’t remove the glue before taking the wiring harness off the stock stick and I guess it damaged my wiring harness so I need to replace it. Any advice doing this would be a huge help.
