Hey, thanks a lot for the video, it will help a ton when I get my new stick next week.
i will deffinatly be modding my stick when it gets hear just orderd some red and black sanwas and a sanwa stick.
i just need to learn how to use photo shop to design an akuma face plate.
thanks for all the information you have realy helped me out.
Well, decided to take the plunge and dual-mod my PS3 stick for PS1/2. Seems to be working alright so far on my PS2, but I havenāt had a chance to try it in my PS3 yet to see if everything is still good there. Another question though: Can the 3.3V point on the PS1 PCB be directly connected to the 5V cable coming in from USB or does it need to be attached to a 5V point directly on the PS3 SE PCB?
To Lord of Ultima:
Thanks so much for the video bro. I think it cleared up any questions people were having about the PCB. Great job editing too!
No problem man, always feels good to actually help someone out. When I was making the video I wasnāt even completely sure thatās how the PCB rotation worked, because it seemed too easy. But sure enough, it all turned out fine.
This is my first time modding a stick, if I can do it any of you having doubts about it can do it aswell, it really is as simple as can be. I havenāt gotten to replacing the art, but I plan to do that sometime in the near future.
Edit: Just to add, anyone use to a stiffer joystick from the old SF2 American cabinets, the LS-33 spring mod is an effective road to travel. It personally feels leaps and bounds better than the madcatz stock stick and the loose feel of the stock JLF.
JLF-TP-8T Sanwa Joystick [yes, I had to rotate the pcb, but that wasnāt a problem]
1 Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Gate
LS-33 Spring Mod to make the stick a little stiffer
4 Black/Grey and 2 Red OBSF-30 Sanwa Buttons
2 OBSM 30mm Hole Plugs
1 Red Sanwa LB-30-N Bat Top with adapter
Sanwa dust cover and shaft.

Lordofultima nice vid clears up alot of things im questioning about.
I checked the first post, but it doesnāt mention if the SE fightstick can accept a LS-56 joystick. I remember seeing it somewhere, but canāt find it right now.
Does anyone know if the LS-56 fits and if there are any problems with it?
Well I finally decided on a color scheme and ordered a Sanwa stick and eight buttons from Lizard Lick last night. Now I just play the waiting game.
I really wanna do an artwork mod but it seems to be a pain, so Iāll wait. I may just end up getting a TE stick some time down the line and mod the crap out of that.
Regardless, thanks big time for this thread. Iāll throw up some pics whenever my stuff gets in.
Why would you want an LS-56 in there?
LS-56 has a smaller throw than the LS-32
Thanks for the video, man!
It will make my life easier when I get my Sanwa parts and start to mod the SE.
Nice job!
JLF-TP-8YT-SK and Sanwa OBSN-30. Putting the buttons in was pretty scary. If you wondering what the SK is for its the shaft cover. This is the exact Joystick in the TE edition.
nice vid! posted the day after i installed my parts though lol. but yah i think its been said once here, but please, order the JLF with a mounting plate. if you plan on reusing your stock mounting plate, get ready for some strippage action! those top bolts really blow. but thanks to this thread, im running my jlf with sanwa buttons!
W00t, thanks for the vid Ultima. It definitely needs to be moved up to the OP.
You stole my design. I orderd that exact same setup (still waiting) last week.
For the LS-32-01, youāre going to have to rotate your mounting plate 90 degrees so that instead of pointing up / down, you want it going left / right. When done correctly, your joystick direction will point the same direction as the stock stick does (away from the buttons). This can be done two different ways.
- Before mounting, take off the ball top and the top 4 screws and rotate.
- After mounting, take off the restrictor plate and rotate the PCB 90 degrees.
The downside of the LS-32-01 is that youāll have to take off the PCB in order to mount it with 4 screws; if you donāt, you can still attach w/ two screws. So the most efficient way, IMO, is to take the restrictor plate / PCB off first, then mount the joystick, then reattach the PCB pointed in the right direction and then put back on the restrictor plate.
If you need more clarification, I can take some pictures.

ls-32 stick i just took did the rotate the mounting plate thing along with some spare buttons till i print my art out and figure out what scheme i want. also my friend put in a psx pcb for me so i can play on every system iām prepared for evo
Please do, sir, Iām terribly interested in the LS-32-01 for my SE, for the shorter throw, and Iām pretty bad with handywork. 'preciate it.
Oh, and since iām posting, iāve been digging and digging and digging for any info on how to change the artwork, funny how the template topic has zero info on how to actually perform the swap. As in, stripping the original art, and replacing. All they have are hundreds of pics of Ryu and Cammy and them. Anyone here change their art yet? Wondering if the right way to do it would be to just place it on top of the existing picture or actually chipping off the stuff like a bumper sticker then putting the new one on.
