The House/Dance Music Thread... vol.?

I don’t think he was. Don’t worry though, he’ll see the light.

Dude this song is tight as hell. Hell even that electro dancing ain’t so bad. I need it in mp3 form pronto. EDIT: It’s not so rare afterall. Short version for my phone, long version for my MP3 player. Joys!

it’s just really “dancing in a gay bar with your shirt off voguing” gay.

Might as well call house music gay since it was popular in gay clubs.

sigh

Is the original Yelle song as good as the remix. Something tells me it’s not.

yeah…like that.

it’s just really…gay.

and house music used to be pretty gay, chicago has like the top 3 highest gay populations in the us. when it went worldwide it got less gay.

anyway this thread is a bunch of noobs(not all of you) who like to say buzzwords like house and electro and what not, and seem to know very little about the history or spirit of the sounds they’re gushing about.

Where is this new mix of yours at? Not A-Groove right?

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7OOWWKTI

there it is

a-groove is my name though, the name of the mix is the keeper.

You’ve obviously never even been to clubs or shows outside the U.S. if you think that was “gay” sounding. A lot of masculine looking dudes with their girlfriends will sing their hearts out to cascada in london…CASCADA. Gay to americans, pretty normal for the rest of the world…

And how did Chicago get brought into this? Yelle isn’t from Chicago…Plus, all house music, especially deep house, is deeply rooted in disco, arguably a genre with a very gay history. Guess all us house lovers are big faggots.:looney:

I just got into house music late last year.

chicago was brought up because thats where house music was born. and yes, a lot of disco is pretty gay too lol.

idk i find yelle really annoying and pop european in the worst possible way. and what does it matter if ive ever been to a european club? there are clubs here that play stuff like that. and there are european clubs that play quality music.

The music they play when people vogue is called “ballroom beats” . .i actually like it. I actually know a few djs that make them.

Some of the samples come from classic house tracks and some people started calling it house, but its NOT! Theyre called ballroom beats or “the beats”. Ive been asked to be in a few “houses” … its quite interesting… .enough about that

:::ANYWAYS:::

I dont believe in the gay music nonsense. Like that guy said, its only here in the us, and around the more ignorant would you hear such a thing. Yelle is no more gay than say. . Dannii Minogue or Annie or anyone else.

You’re feeling yourself way too much epsilon_ lol. But I’ll check your stuff out before I say more.

EDIT: That track you posted by Grant Nelson seems exactly like what I’m looking for yah yaahh b*tch. He’s not on iTunes so it may be a bit before I check more of his stuff out but I’ll definitely give em a go. Also really dig that Runaway remix. Love the original song but that one is fresh too with the added piano.

Heh. It’s better than the original Runaway. A lot better.

I like this girl. DJ Ama. House/Electro Beats. Youtube links on her site. http://www.dj-ama.com

KRS JIN, the line in you sig reminds me of the sample from Dj Revolution’s .

^ Good call, that’s exactly where it’s from lol. Minus the VF of course. Not that track, but many DJs have and still do use it in turntablism.

I’ve heard it on other tracks before but that’s what clicked first.

“In 12’s We Trust” was a great album!

I got new house track I produced. I’ll put up a sampling of it tonight. You guys’ll have to tell me what you think. Kinda stoked about it, can’t wait to drop it in a mix actually.

currently listening to

Kaskade - Move

I actually want to try my hand at producing and I want house to be the first thing I try! I think this is just the next step considering I’ve started to DJ.

Ok, so this is something I worked on for one night. Wanted to do something almost halloweenish and yes that IS vincent price. This one runs at a pretty standard 128 bpm.

It doesn’t have a vocal track, and it’ll probably stay that way. I’ll give it some more bells and whistles, as it stands it’s super rough and a bit empty sounding, but I’m digging the bassline. I’ll probably be jamming dizzee rascal vocals over it in the mix anyway.
