The Hori PS4 VLX thread

definitely wouldn’t buy it with the intention of having a value to someone other than you. But to give some insight, sometime in 2014 i picked up one of the last OG red vewlix’s for the 360. Paid about $300 and i don’t regret it for a second. Like some have mentioned, this is one of the few sticks you can potentially “buy for life” type of thing. Having the OG red i wouldn’t have even considered the new one since mine is near mint but…damn that sweet touchpad.

It’s thin plexi that sits on top of a metal panel I did custom for him.

@Alerhan - no problems using the picture. Can’t wait to see it all installed.

Awesome!

Hi all, I have a few questions which have probably been answered in this thread but I have not had much luck scouring through the pages and pages of info so I though I would just post a comment. Apologies if it’s been repeated.

I have the VLX Kuro and would like to change the joystick to a Sanwa JLF but am not sure which type/model I am supposed to get (I’ve seen a few different numbers during my search).

What do the different springs do e.g. I’ve seen JLF 2lb spring mentioned. Do I need to order a spring as well or will the joystick come with a spring?

I would like to replace the buttons with Sanwa buttons - what size are the main 8 buttons I would need and what size is the Options button?

Is it easy to install custom art for this stick?

Thanking you in advance!

  1. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, there’s really only 1 model of JLF you need, and it’s the JLF-TP-8YT. JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK is the Silent version. Something that ends in “SC” includes shaft cover, but no mounting plate, I think.

  2. The JLF comes with a spring installed already. People like to change it up.

  3. The main buttons are the standard 30mm size. The Options button is the standard 24mm size.

  4. It is not easy to install custom art. There’s a short discussion about this 1 page back on page 31 of this thread.

^^ OK great, thanks for the info.

My post from the post your new stick thread in case anyone was looking for inspiration:

So I was browsing around the nets and i stumbled upon this thread from 2010.
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/tnl/threads/56041-Amazon-s-11-22-One-Day-Sale-Hori-VLX-and-Mad-Catz-TE-Arcade-Sticks

Apparently amazon had a one day sale on the original vlx for $235. Anyone here take advantage of that sale back then?

could of sworn they went as low as $150 at one point

Woooow. I would have been all over that.

It took them 2 days to ship even though they created the shipping label right away. It should be here Tuesday though, can’t wait. It’s like being a little kid waiting for Christmas.

i don’t know how i missed your VLX panels, i’m super excited now and will be sending an order in soon. I have a question though, what colors should I used to get the darkest blacks on the vinyl print? my guess is CMYK which does a mixture but I’m still unsure about printing colors.

Keep it CMYK and use 100% black with 0% everything else. Be warned though, the laminate tends to lighten colors a bit.

Got my Kuro for a month now and I’m loving it. Planning on buying the Hayabusa now so i can play with friends when they come over. Does anyone know any Canadian importers? Exchange rate and shipping is too expensive coming from the US.

Check out Play-Asia? That’s where I got mine to the UK.

How much was shipping in total tho?

I paid about £250 all in to the UK. They tell you how much it all is on the website through the checkout process.

Did they ship it in the actual box?

yea playasia does not double box

It has arrived, my brother teased me with a picture. I’m still at work and is very excited to open it:
