Thanks for sharing. I just ordered this stand, without knowing that it is too wide for the VLX. I will def put some wood on top of it. What did you use to saw off the inner support bar? Will a regular hacksaw work? I donāt have any powertools available to me.
Can anyone tell the difference between the stick in the quoted post and the one below beside the obvious colors? Is Amazon releasing an old version of the stick in February 2016?
The only difference between the two sticks are the buttons. The one with the red sides uses the new hayabusa buttons which feature a matte texture, and imo feel more responsive. Everything else is exactly the same.
Thatās dope, my keyboard stand is coming in a few days. Any tips on the piece of wood I should get? Did you use 3/4 inch hardwood plywood? Also, where did u get that rubber sheet?
The wood I used was from an old ikea bookshelf that was no longer sturdy. Itās 3/4 in. particleboard, which is strong enough to support the VLX just fine, so any cheap 3/4 in. wood you can get should be np.
The rubber sheeting you can get at Lowes or Home Depot in the kitchen department. Itās meant to be used for stuff like kitchenware in drawers or in shelves. The rolls are inexpensive.
The reason I decided to go with this setup is that with the 3/4 wood on the stand, the panel of the VLX sits at the exact height of an actual VLX arcade cab.
Also, I was being cheap, lol (wood from old bookshelf, stand from my piano). Only spent $ on the rubber sheets.
The black anodized buttons were delayed and havenāt been shipped yet. I have reached out the company to find out what the status is and they said they would get them out to me as soon as possible. They are coming from Asia so I expect it to be at least a week until they arrive. Rest assured that all the kits are made up and ready to ship once they arrive.
Has anyone used a keyboard bench to mount the VLX on similar to this when sitting on a couch?
If so then thoughts on stability? The Q&A section on Amazon says guys weighing 300+ pounds have no issues with it but would like to hear from someone that has actually used it to mount a VLX. I currently have it on a wide storage ottoman & while itās very stable, itās not height adjustable.
What colors Ball Top and Button go well with Horil VLX Kuro? Post pictures please I want to see which one look the best so I can choose a set of button and Ball top to replace. Thank You!
Iāve stuck to the standard Arcade Layouts. That being said, custom panels can be made if you really want something tailored to your needs. Keep in mind, that one off panels arenāt considered cheap though.
As one of the first I say I guess because it looks nice on the Kuro. Same with those who have the VLX Dia with the Translucent Blue, which I also have. For my original though kept mostly stock except the L buttons.
Does anyone know if the PCB used in the VLX Hayabusa is the same is the VLX Kuro one ?
My friend just sent me a video showing how the V5 Hayabusa PCB made huge improvements in terms of input lag (supposedly faster than TE2 and v4 now), while I remember v5 and VLX Kuro were quite bad.
