The Hori PS4 VLX thread

Amazon screws up occasionally. I pre-ordered a PS4 immediately after the E3 2013 announcement and paid for release day shipping. It didn’t make it on time for release day. No retailer is infallible.

You’re right. I also experienced the PS4 hustle, but I order via Amazon two times a week, and I didn’t expect the Hori VLX to be late…
Why not the pack of diapers???

Any recommendations for which keyboard stand to use that’s on Amazon Prime for relatively cheap? Alternatively something other than a keyboard stand I’m totally fine with getting but I’ve always seen those suggested.

If I were to buy one I’d buy this, looks solid and fully adjustable.
Too wide for the VLX.

I have a set of these

It works great for my VLX.

thx for the replies guys! I think I’m going to take the plunge

That keyboard stand looks great but it looks like you need a board on top of it since the minimum width is 24 inches and the VLX is 22. I ordered a VLX diamond that should get here in a week and I’m looking for a stand that’ll keep it at the vewlix height (710 millimeters) or close to that with room for my legs. That keyboard stand is definitely the closest thing I’ve seen. I came close to ordering it but if someone else has found something that can be adjusted to 22" I’d like to know.

I just wish someone would sell a stand like this one for a reasonable price

Define reasonable, these days actual wooden furniture made from actual solid wood instead of particle board is quite expensive.
The furniture industry is so bad now that MDF and plywood is listed as premium materials (along with solid wood) instead of standard materials.

We even have one forum member @mrtraitor made his own stand out of plywood and wood stock and you can see his work on page 26 of this thread.

Can’t wait to join this VLX club.
Made my order on Amazon a few days ago, but it’s listed as “Ships in 4-6 weeks”. Not a bid deal, but I’m super-excited nonetheless.

I already have a basic X-shape keyboard stand that I bought maybe about a year ago as an experiment for something; it’s not the most stable on sideways motions, but I’ll probably give that a shot before either buying another more stable one or building a proper stand.

Oh i understand that because of the materials and craftsmanship it’s gonna cost a lot. The thing is at the end of the day the table that’s meant to hold the stick is more than twice the stick’s price. So it would be nice for someone to make a cheaper material and craftmanship version. Something as small as possible made out of particle board with the top made out of plywood is fine by me. With places like aliexpress specializing in cheap knockoff stuff and some stores taking custom orders I can see someone sending one of them plans for an easy to manufacture version of a vlx stand and them selling it as cheap as possible. They’re not gonna be nearly as nice but a table doesn’t have to be. At least not for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Unfortunately, the minimum width on that one is still too wide for a VLX, but if you have a balance board ( which comes with the OG and the Diamond), that negates the problem since it’s almost 25". I’m not a big fan of how much stress that may or may not put on the balance board, so for my little rig, I intend to eventually weld a sheet steel to the stand since I don’t use it for much else.

Ah, guess I should have looked at the measurements first, was thinking the VLX was around 28"

That sucks, I ordered one when I saw the link. Been looking for a stand for ages… I think what I am going to do when it arrives is get an Ikea tabletop and put that on top. I’ll let you guys how that goes.

Can someone clarify for me…

Kuro - how much of the frame is metal?
Does the Hayabusa button/Falcon stick have less metal on it’s frame than the Kuro?

All VLX’s have the same amount of metal. Look at a pic of the Diamond to get a better idea of what parts are metal.

hi guys, where I can find hori vlx/or hori not vlx but last version with habyusa stick and buttons? link pls

guys, can u write me the exact name of the last hori vlx released? I have a lot of confusion…link me if u can

This is a VLX with all of the plastic removed (the back and sides).

The top panel is metal as well, but I didn’t feel like throwing one back on just to take the picture. As @Tensho said, all VLXs have the same amount of metal.
