@Cor_Leonis, you have the exact setup I would like on mine. You sir, have excellent taste.
Iāve been thinking about picking up some Smoke OBSCs and putting foil tape in the inserts to mimic the art overlay. Curious to see if it would turn out well or not.
I was thinking of doing something like that, at first just plain black unless I find something close to match the panel, some sort of dark silvery and sparkly material or paper.
Stupid question but how do I open the top plate on this thing? I want to change the stick and buttons but Iām not sure what I have to do to get it open. I donāt want to unscrew random screws on the bottom. I thought there would be some sort of release button to open the top.
Edit
3 screws in wire compartment.
3 thumb screws you need to unscrew inside the back compartment that holds the USB cord, then just lift the top panel after that.
Iām noticing Iām plinking when I input all 3 punch buttons or kick buttons. I almost never do this on my TE. does any else have this problem with the vlx? Iām using sanwa buttons.
I got my Vewlix Kuro yesterday ādown hereā! Iām awed by the case of this thing. :o
Thanks to ArcadeShock for making this possible!

Need a travel bag for this stick itās too big
And arcade shock offered a bag that could fit this behemoth.
Yeah, ordered it back then. It hasnāt been shipped yet though. I think I read something about Julyā¦
Made a thread for this, then realized I should have started here beforehand
New member, been searching high and low to see if any other mods have been made to the newly released VLX Kuro other than cosmetic button/balltop swaps.
Iām looking to replace all my sticks with this beast and would like to add a PS360+ to the mix. Iāve brainstormed a few possibilities but at the moment I feel like the most optimal way to rock it would be with an alternate RJ45 output for Xbox360 (and the plethora of other consoles it support), keeping the PS4/PS3 functionality on the stock USB cable. Bear in mind I have been unable to find any schematics for the VLX PCB to go off of for the piggyback wiring.
If any one has attempted to do this or plan on doing so, which resources have you found for reference? Anything that would point me in the right directions is appreciated.
Iām definitely mulling this over too⦠trying to build up my mod expertise on other sticks before I hack into the VLX. but yes, that is my end goal too! (extra caveat : Sega Saturn support is required! this adds some wire trickery.) I havenāt cracked open the VLX kuro pcb cover yet myself so I canāt help you yet. besides Iām nub status anyways.
hopefully, some of the real mod adepts are attempting this too. I saw some exclusive pcbās were made for earlier VLX models so maybe something is in the works for this one too.
I will leave it to the moderators as to where such a discussion belongs, but I encourage it!
been watching the @āLemony Vengeanceā vids on youtube. very helpful for ps360+ install and crossbone type fun.
(hope this isnāt out of line) he seems like the kind of guy to just send your VLX and parts and compensation to and he would relish figuring it out! but in the meantime heās a helpful kind of guy, wants to help build up the community knowledge, Iād ask him for some advice.
The Dual Modding 101 thread is a universal type approach to doing this mod, with the ps360+ just being another type of pcb like any other padhack approach. so all of that info seemed relevant to me.
After you can form some specific questions about your situation, go to the main Absolute Question and Answer thread. They seem to address all kinds of oddities ⦠give them a try if our VLX brethren canāt help out.
Finally, there are Xbox One specific padhack threads if you need that too.
Does the VLX Kuro have an easy VCC spot anywhere on the PCB for an optical stick?
The point where the USB connects to the PCB.
Its sorta hard to see as Hori encase the PCB in itās own shell.
Not sure I want to open the shell just to see I have to mess around more or remove it completely to get at the point to solder, maybe I just stick to soldering Omron D2RVās in the Hayabusa to make a silent stick then.
Yeah, Iām too lazy/scared to mess with my Kuro VLX so Iām just using a silent JLF assembly for now. Iām thinking of getting an LS-56 and putting D2RVās in there sometime later (or get the silent Crown 307.)

Iām thinking about ordering the gamer finger buttons as well how do they feel to u as you play Iām thinking about going with the blue switches⦠Also is this v4 viewlix the same size as the v3? Iām thinking about changing my artwork but canāt find a template for the v4
They feel great, very responsive. The blue mx switches (or Razer green) have a clicky sound, if you prefer that.

@Cor_Leonis, you have the exact setup I would like on mine. You sir, have excellent taste.
Thanks, I agree.
The VLX arrived. $300 + $135 shipping $98 import tax. The post office blocks the package until Monday. Iām tempted to keep it in the box and wait until SFV is released next year. I donāt have any purpose for it until then. I had the first HRAP.EX Premium VLX before, so Iām not in a hurry to try it.
anyone replace their hayabusa and want to get rid of it? looking for a very lightly used complete with ball top and shaft cover. checked trading outlet but no luck.
