You can buy the Hayabusa loose from Focus Attack and Paradise Arcade
So i guess this must be the best PS4 stick out right now huh? I hope it doesnāt sell out by the time i buy one. Which will probably be sometime at the end of this year. Iād buy it right now if it wasnāt for Evo taking up so much of my money.
American conversion complete!
IL Eurostick and IL Longstem Buttons w/Cherry Microswitches!
Thanks to the advice I got here, I was able to make .187 to .110 adapter wires for my VLX so that I could install the IL Long Stems without destroying any existing cabling.
Man it plays so nice. It was all kind of a gamble since I hadnāt spent time on an American cab setup since the 7-11 days.
Concave! Thereās something so comforting about having little bowls to stick your fingers into! no questions about where my poor dis-coordinated digits are or what buttons are being executed. I guess every press has to be deliberate at 75g!
had fun with MVC, MVC2, MSH, and USFIV on my ps3 last night⦠like playing them all again for the first time. my super combos all day long now!
I highly encourage this mod if there are any VLX owners with fond memories of the HAPP days. the IL Eurostick and longstems definitely live up to the construction and accuracy quality we expect from Sanwa et al , just with a wholly different feel!
P.S. the Paradise Arcade IL Longstem exclusive color-way āMs. Pac Man Paradise Pinkā is more subdued in real-life than in the photo on their website or that I took myself! It almost has a grayish cast to it. much preferred for me actually, Iām just trying to indicate my VLX is** Psycho Powered**, not from the Barbie collection!
pics or it didnāt happen
I picked up my VLX. The seller lowered the price on the customs declaration with $170, which saved money on the import tax. The downside is that he didnāt use an external box. He simply shipped the VLXās box. Not only did it cause a lot of damage to the box, he also covered the entire top with shipping labels. All of this drastically reduced the resale value of the stick. It is obvious that the seller has absolutely no idea what this product truly means to the buyer. His webshop also sells potato chips, tea, handsoap, scales and beauty products. For a whopping $533, the least he could do is put it in an extra box.
(I made the data on the labels invisible for the first photo)

I will try to use a hairdryer to remove the labels, but I think the damage is permanent.
Same thing happened to my box, I guess if you ever do another buy like this, ask for external box before buying.
Installed a crown 307 in mine for now, going to see if i can mod it to fit a Myoungshin fanta instead.

@kkolding I think bat tops look very cool. They really want to make me want to play charge characters.
The internals:

Some swaps for Sanwa buttons and a white Sanwa balltop.

This resembles the Vewlix L a bit more, although the VLX is much darker.

Looks like you can rebind touchpad to L1/L2 using the assign feature. I figure that would be the most obvious way to blink/slink in the PS4 version of SFIV. Guess weāll find out in 9 hours. I donāt think Capcom cares enough to remove it from the PS4 version.
e: Yeah you can plink with touchpad
e2: legacy sticks can still do it as well
Also if anyone has trouble understanding the directions for reassigning L1/L2 on the VLX
move the assign switch to on
Hold L1 or L2 until the green light starts to blink.
Hold the button you want to assign L1 or L2 to until the red LED comes up and or the green LED stops blinking (if you are rebinding more than one button)
Move the assign switch to off
To unassign your button, just move the switch to on and hold L1 or L2 until the green led stops blinking/the red led disappears.
Hey, kids, going to Tokyo for work and since Iām staying close to Akihabara might get some Sanwa buttons just in case I get tired of my Kuros. Canāt decide on the color, though. White looks classy, but violet isnāt bad too. Any suggestions?
violet is very solid
In the end got both. Iāll take some photos when I go back home tomorrow. Also, Mak, in Akihabara is kinda cool. Wish I had some more time to talk to the owner, he seemed to be a nice guy.
Mak Japan is a little arcade shop in an upper floor in an alley in Akihabara, at the opposite side of a cafeteria. I talked to the owner 6 years ago. He advised me to use XBOX 360 over PS3 because of the input delay. Bought a bunch of buttons. He put each button in a separate zip loc bag to prevent scratching.
MAK! is awesome, every time I go there I feel welcomed and at home. They always remember me as the American that spends a lot of money, shows them a lot of pictures of projects, and brings them fun arcade gifts from the US. They are located on the main strip of Akihabara past Taito Game Station, about a quarter block from a major intersection. When you come out of the Akihabara station, go the main road (look for the build CLUB SEGA building which is across the main street) and turn right. There is a nice booth on the corner that usually has some nice Street Fighter branded stuff you can pick up a long the way. Continue down past Don Quijote (donāt go in, waste of time in my opinion) and then past TGS. You will see the MAJ Japan sign on the building, its about 2āx2ā and Burgundy/Red. Its right above a big antique toy store. Use the elevator, go up to 6.
While you are there, there is another spot across the street called G-FRONT (its at a 45 degree angle away from MAK). They are also pretty good. Opens after noon. The windows are painted Green with Yellow lettering that says G-FRONT. Its right above a nice coffee shop.
There are a few others, and if you crawl around the alleys off the main road you are going to find a lot of cool places for tools, parts, and even sanwa buttons (in non-arcade spots)/.
This may help: http://akihabaraarcade.blogspot.com/2013/01/arcade-stores.html
This is an old but good map that can help you get around. Most of the stores are tiny and up above other shops so it may take you a few to find them:

One thing of note, this doesnt show MAK! It does exist and its in the blue block 45 degrees down from G-Front along Chuou St.
QUICK EDIT
Be sure to call your credit card company ahead of time and tell them you are in Japan spending money. I forgot once and it was a huge pain to figure it out and attempt to explain a >$1000 purchase at two different shops within 15 minutes. It was also awkward trying to explain to the guys at Mak! and G-Front that Visa was being ridiculous.
Spoiler
Thanks for the tips! Actually, since I live in Japan, didnāt have to worry, paid in cash. Also knew about Mak, but have never been there before. I asked the owner if they had lots of foreigner clients and he said the number was growing each year. Does he speak English? We talked in Japanese.
As promised, white Sanwa buttons and balltop pics. I tried violet before, but didnāt like it enough. (I plan to use them on my TE2 if MCZ releases violet sides). Crappy cell phone pic warning:
Spoiler
The owner speaks very good english⦠I speak very terrible Japanese. I can basically say Hello, Thanks, and Whereās the bathroom

Made a thread for this, then realized I should have started here beforehand
New member, been searching high and low to see if any other mods have been made to the newly released VLX Kuro other than cosmetic button/balltop swaps.
Iām looking to replace all my sticks with this beast and would like to add a PS360+ to the mix. Iāve brainstormed a few possibilities but at the moment I feel like the most optimal way to rock it would be with an alternate RJ45 output for Xbox360 (and the plethora of other consoles it support), keeping the PS4/PS3 functionality on the stock USB cable. Bear in mind I have been unable to find any schematics for the VLX PCB to go off of for the piggyback wiring.
If any one has attempted to do this or plan on doing so, which resources have you found for reference? Anything that would point me in the right directions is appreciated.
Just came to me to kind of bump this subject before anyone tries this and gets super frustrated.
@Gummo modded Sabinās VLX at Combo Breaker and found that when the board is powered, the I/O are held low unless it detects a valid system. This means that just connecting the I/O between boards on a standard dual mod wonāt work, you need extra steps and itās not for the faint of heart.
Basically you need to put all the cable connections to a central point and then from there pop diodes between that and the VLXās I/O, while the other side goes to whatever secondary PCB you have in the case. Gummo had to actually create an on the fly version out of perf board, and a few spare dual and single row headers, but it did work.
TL:DR, until a write up is done, or you understand the above paragraph and are ready to tackle that, donāt try a dual mod, youāll just get frustrated.
The Kuro buttons are actually pretty nice and I like the huge plunger on them but I bought a set of GamerFinger buttons for another stick and I like them so much I think Iāll use them on this, maybe next time Kuroā¦
The ugly octagon shape is growing on me too.
Think Iāve finally decided on my buttons & stick - I originally went with Seimitsu smoke all round, and it was great, but not quite right. I had some black Seimitsu screw-ins lying about, so Iāve swapped the plungers and like the way black plungers & smoke rims go together. Put the black LS-56 shaft cover and washer back on, kept the smoke bubbletop, and I think thatās it!
