That sucks so bad. I would wait to see what Hori says. If it’s too much of a hassle and they ask you to ship it back at your cost or some BS I would just strip, brush and buff or chrome it. Then you can have the first VLX Kuro Diamond.
She got the smoke Seimitsu treatment, well except for the ball top, that is a Custom Tiger Eye Butterjo ball top from PAS.
Under the hood. Smoke Seimitsu buttons and a LS-40. I decided not to use the supplied button plugs and used my own because I like the texture.
No dick 8 buttons for my stick.
Yes Seimitsu sticks with the S-plate mounts fine. The center holes seems a little tight the first time.
The two now extra screws have to be screwed into the LS-40 for safe keeping.
Spare buttons.
What you can’t see, I used Moonchilde’s idea of including a sanwa dust washer under the mount plate to keep even more dust out.
Got mine today. I think I have dimples on mine, but other than that it came in good nick. Really wish Amped Up Customs was still able to make panels, would love to switch this over to Astro layout. Although I am also a strong proponent of 6 button (my Fighting Edge has a custom 6 button panel on it) I’ll probably rock 8 button until I decide to wire up L1/L2 to L3/R3.
Also yeesh, those Hori start buttons are garbage. The Kuro buttons felt a little different than the ones that came in my White Fighting Edge as well.
We’re holding a contest for the best customized VLXKURO. Shoot us a tweet with a pic of your stick and you’ll be automatically entered to win an exclusive part that will be released at Evo.
Kuro’s were the first to go though.
They wreck your hands if you try to mash out of dizzy’s using the sliding hand method.
(Surprised this wasn’t noticed during their testing.) Probably drop an LS-56 asap too.
Also want to see if I can get some sound absorption foam to deaden the internal sounds, my wooden stick sounds so much quieter and solid compared to this stick.
Pretty stoked! I need to replace that start button, holy balls does it suck. For now I left the Hayabusa in since I’ve never used one and I’d like to try it out. Though I’ll probably end up replacing it with a JLF or LS-56.
You could clip an old stock JLF spring in half and put it under the plunger. I now do this for most of my Start/Select/Home buttons. Especially in cases where those buttons are not recessed or covered in any way. It makes them stiff so it’s less likely that you’ll hit them by mistake. Shoutouts to @hibachifinal for that pro tip.
Hi im from the uk and looking to get my hands on one of these! Can the vlx be bought from stores in japan or is it only available via amazon.jp or hori.jp!
Unfortunately my phone doesn’t allow me to insert pics. Basically all I did was, remove the standard square gate and lined up the Sanwa GTYR8 to the small holes on the nodes and pressed it in with some pressure and it fits flush on the nodes no screws needed. I ordered my parts from Focus Attack. They came in the same week.
So bothersome that it took this long to get here, but at least the trinity is complete. Mine appears to be in 98% condition, at least. Some minor scuffs on the side caps and a sort of… paint inconsistency on the wrist rest; all of which can only be seen from a certain angle. Straight on, it looks fine, at least.
I’ve been mulling over if I want to replace the stock stuff or not, but eh… I can function perfectly fine with the Hayabusa and Kuro. I’m vaguely curious how black and pink would look on this…
what a stable platform for M. Bison charge executions! I play on my lap and it may as well have been on a table. hernia aside, I’m looking forward to spending hours on this sexy beasty.
like Chikalin I think it plays great and looks great all black… but I got these mitsu deep pinks waiting for a home! I just feel bad opening up such a pretty lady.
I even went so far as to wear nitrile gloves when playing… respect the TECHNOLOGY!
I noticed no defects or blemishes, got it shipped double boxed #flawless
I’m from Canada, Toronto and I think I’m late to the party… but the site still says it’s on stock.
Granted I pay for the most expensive shipping possible do you guys think I’ll receive it in a week?
This costs around $538 canadian with the most expensive shipping plan they offer possible
If I can’t get it within 3-4 days or it’s out of stock and the site isn’t updating for some reason… than I should probably wait… I’m trying to import a stick from amiami but they are taking forever to process.
Well what is the most expensive shipping, generally they should give you an idea how long it should take on the shipping companies site, and also depends how long it takes Arcadeshock to ship it out.(could always contact them and ask.)
