Received both of mine on Sat but still waiting for some parts including a Sanwa silent JLF (2nd gen) & some balltops. In the meantime, I installed a PAS 38mm balltop & Sanwa silent buttons. And yes, the Start button feels like crap. Pretty sure itâs a new design even on the Start button since the plunger feels bigger than the older Hori stuff from what I remember. No air bubbles on both.
Yea, no outer shipping box. I havenât heard from Hori yet. Anyone have any ideas how to polish or buff out the scratch on the metal part where your palm rests, I just want to prevent paint chipping issues down the road.
On a positive note, I actually like the kuro buttons now. Not sure if they are a newer revision, but they feel a lot better than the kuros I had on my white Fighting Edge and no squeaking.
Well can you post a pic? How deep is the scratch, though you said itâs down to the metal? Can you see the metal or itâs just a mark in the black paint?
Reds. I have Blues as well, but I honestly prefer the feel of the stock red switches over anything else. Razer has some switches (Green/Yellow), which I havenât tried yet, though.
They go in easily. Just line them up and then press them down into place. The trick to getting perfect alignment after theyâre already in-place is to use a wrench from the underside to fine-tune the rotation. I did this to get them all perfectly oriented.
If you need to take them out, just use a screw-driver to press down the tabs on the side, same as how youâd remove a Kuro or Sanwa OBSF.
Guys, can someone explain how the assign function works? I donât quite understand it, the manual is extremely vague. Also, while I think the kuro buttons are fine, I canât stand the stick for some reason, i think the square gate hitting the sides makes a really irritating hollow sound, will swap out for my te1 sanwa stick and see if it makes a difference.
also, does anyone have a code for 20% off the bag that theyâre not using? I pre-ordered mine from hori so I didnât get one D:
Got my Vewlix in today. Itâs my first stick really wasnât sure what to expect. The housing unit is solid and sturdy definitely has some weight to it. The buttons feel a lot different then the concaved buttons I played with during the SFII and MK1 days, which I understand were suzo-happsâ at least for MK1. The joystick felt wobbly which I immediately didnât like. I donât know if thatâs how others are but, it immediately threw me off. Inside the unit everything is very clean and easy to access. I was able to change the balltop to a Sanwa LB30 black battop. Also, swapped the spring to a 2LB Force JLF and added the Sanwa GTYR8 octagonal gate without any screws (which I hope I did right). I also removed buttons R2 and Square for Mortal Kombat X gameplay (Only fighting game I currently own). The stick felt so much better after the spring change. I feel like I have a lot more control over my movements and itâs snappier to the center. Definitely going to change the crappy option button to a colored one. Overall Iâm very happy with it, probably going to get the madcatz next for portability this one would be a pain to carry around.
How were you able to add a octagonal gate? Any pictures? I also feel that the stick is too soft/wobbly and I need to replace the stock spring with a 2lb force JLF.
Well I donât think you can buff or polish that out because it looks like itâs the black paint thatâs scratched off and you can see the bare metal, but you can get paint to match it and try and touch it up, or a ghetto fix is a black marker lol
Did Hori get back to you yet?
No Hori did not get back to me. I figured as much. I guess I will have to live with it. Sucks that such an expensive stick comes scratched right out of the box.
