I can confirm that if you ordered 2/VLX’s from Hori, they double boxed. Sweeet
I’m still waiting for my VLX delivery but man I am excited. Deep Pink Seimitsu buttons and with matching ball top on a LS-56 ready to go!
as to the Kuro buttons my high execution mahval friend KennySwiss has been loving them on his Fighting Edge for a couple of years now.
this is probably mentioned elsewhere but they really seem great and I think I know why!
the Hori Kuro Switch has got to be made by Sanwa!
if you hold them up side by side a sanwa and hori branded switch from the kuro look exactly the same… I mean dead on from any angle. the only difference being the logo and slightly enhanced bridge between the contacts. my less than scientific finger squeeze test directly on each switch notes no difference.
the kuro buttons themselves have a slightly wider diameter with a thinner rim. this allows for some slightly easier finger reaching or plinking for those so inclined. and the squeaking does go away.
I think the Hyabusa is a good stick but too loose for my taste.
IMHO the VLX wont really need to be modded out of the box except for aesthetic preferences and/or for the pro-tier player!
ROUND 1 FIGHT!
I love this stick. No dimples in the front metal panel, kuros are a much sharper edge than Sanwas but absolutely no squeaking from any of the buttons. Cable door is tight and not loose at all. Lever seems fine and I can’t feel a difference from Sanwa’s but that could change once I play with it a bit. Only complaint so far is the air bubbles under the foam on the bottom…for $300 they should have no air trapped in there.
*sorry guys. Meant to do as 1 post
I received mine today. Came. Pictures tomorrow
Yeah no price anywhere to be found.
Don’t like that I have to give a signature to receive it, but I’m having it sent to the nearest FedEx just to make sure I get ASAP. I already have Clear Smoke color Sanwa buttons and JLF with Clear Smoke Balltop and Dust Cover to install.
Thanks, I didn’t tell my GF how much I paid and don’t want her to find out if she gets the mail when I’m not home.

Got mine today. Love it, but did notice the hollow sound echoing from button presses right away (this is my first VLX). Would foam blocks do the trick to dampen the sound?
Half inch acoustic foam worked wonders for me in my Panzer. Install something like this…

Is foam really a good idea? I thought that stuff was notorious for building up a static charge that could discharge on your PCB.
I haven’t had any issues with it. I honestly never considered that. I’ve been running that ps360 mounted like that for over a year.
If you are concern about the foam and static, you can use the foam padding designed for PC cases.
The foam sold for PC cases is anti-static.
Slightly different thread of though …
I saw this in my email from Hori USA
You don’t say Hori, No shit.
hey guys… got mine in yesterday… unboxed it live on my stream last night. here’s the archive if anyone is interested on my 1st impressions.
Holy shit this is a big stick. Playing on this thing feels totally different than any other stick I’ve owned–TE1, TE2, VS, and SFXT Pro.
Definitely getting a pink ball top.
You must post photos when you do
Mine showed up, and I’m still at work for another 8 hours.
Huge thanks to arcade shock for making this happen and for taking care of that extra part of my order.
A little annoyed at the tolerances on this. The big red for Xbox 360 was a little tighter but whatever.
However the clear plastic gloss top has some milky patches. Not scratches but a defect in the plastic. It’s hard to photograph (it looks worse in person) but:

Plastic polish?
Case tolerances:

You can’t wipe those smudges off?
From all the VLX Kuro pics I’ve seen so far it looks like there’s more of a gap between the front part of the metal panel and art panel, and raised higher too, so I guess that’s how they are made now, same with the bottom front part of the metal that has a little gap when you close the top like you showed in your third pic.
Odd…mine doesn’t have this problem
The art panel is flush on the left side and flush-ish on the right. Not a huge deal. The plastic defects seem to be mostly gone after some Dunlop 65 guitar polish. It’s like the red dot on the sweater on Seinfeld. Opening it was like, “Oh crap, this is sick! Awesome artwork! What’s that white mark?”
