The Hori PS4 VLX thread

Soon we will be one step closer to Vewlix goodness(I’m still far from an actual Vewlix cab though so this will tide me over) :#

We’ve been prepping orders all day. All orders will be shipped by the end of the week

The BIG MAN, Giby, has the sticks!

Arcadeshock shipped out mine today so I should have it by tomorrow. Gonna be in a hurry to get home to that awesomeness.

I got my VLX from Hori yesterday and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I was unsure how using it on the lap would be, but the grip and weight should make it pretty manageable. I definitely plan to replace the Hori parts with Sanwas but I’m not sure what color buttons I want to use. The stock black looks clean, but the new royal blue parts look really nice as well.

I am so stoked to have this stick. At first I was questioning my decision because of the price, but it was totally worth it.

The ETA for my Kuro VLX is Friday. wktk!

So I just check my shipment
and I saw this

Estimated delivery :
Fri 5/01/2015

I noticed that my estimated delivery is also Friday, but it also still states that’s in the ‘label created status,’ and has not actually been shipped… I am confused and trembling with anticipation. I was so antsy for this thing I ordered it the second AS’s site came back up from the update.

I ordered mine last week or so, after I ordered my TE2. Not sure if I should keep or sell it now (TE2).

Sold mine locally for $250…can’t compare… I would say do it…

Honestly, the TE2 is alright for what it is, but it just has too many flaws to me compared to any other stick currently on the market. I think the only thing it has going for it, in my opinion, is the easy open maintenance, but since the VLX has that and much more for only a $100 more… It’s really no contest unless you actively travel with a stick. I won’t lie. Carrying a VLX around for tournaments isn’t fun even in the Hori approved bag. The general flimsiness of the TE2 is a major turnoff for me, though, and there ain’t nothing flimsy about the VLX ( aside from the top plate bolts! ).

What’s wrong with the top plate bolts?

My tracking number keeps coming up as Not Found :frowning:

@Reiraku Mine too I emailed Vin. Hope Fedex updates soon

Give it 24 hours. It takes at least a day before tracking kicks in. This also applies to USPS and UPS.
I am sure Arcade Shock could only drop off so many packages at a time.
Also tracking don’t kick in on many services until the item actually arrives at one of their facilities.

When did you get your email notification?

The label created status for me appeared Monday, it was only Yesterday that the package was picked up and sent to it’s next stop.

At least both of you don’t have to deal with Riots that could delay shipping.

Mine arrived at the Los Angeles FedEx location around 6PM PST today. So if it’s already out in the wild, I can imagine it coming to Modesto on Fri. Just a 6-9 hour drive from Socal to Central Valley. Crossed fingers

The top plate bolts have notoriously been the VLX’s weakest link, aside from the cable door; if you ever mess with it, that is. They can EASILY snap off if you so much as tighten the nut just a micrometer beyond the threshold. If you never mess with it, which most people won’t, it’s not a problem. If you swap it out for a custom plate, or have any need to remove it whatsoever, pray to your deities that you don’t approach the bolt from an angle or apply too much pressure at just the wrong time.

They are just carriage bolts, a trip to a local hardware store would fix that easy.

As for the cable compartment door, name me one arcade stick that does not have an awful cable compartment door?

But aren’t the bolts tacked/welded to the panel?

I love the concept of a cable compartment + door but why does everyone do it so shoddily? Profound sadness
