So I am thinking this might be a better solution for the replacement of the wire harness.


I am not sure yet how I am wiring it. And I going to cut the ribbon cable and splice wires into it or I going to solder the wires to a DB25 and connect to the ribbon cable

I’d go the DB25 route, which will be future proof for a long-held stick (not sure about you, but I plan to hold on to my VLXes for a long time). That said, what’s your goal? Are you wiring up buttons that don’t have .110 connectors?

I want to use some OBS-M-1 switches which uses .187 sized tabs
I could juts clip off the .110 DQs but with this being the VLX I want to make it reversible

Yea, at least mine was. It was on the bottom of the stick. I had the white one.

Depending on how do you it, you could also just use the same ribbon cable Toodles used for the Kitty board. There’s a picture of it a little bit down the ways in the VLX Kitty thread: forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/129829/official-kitty-class-boards-thread/p1

I recall it being the same end on each side, I think… My Kitty-modded VLX is stuck on the other side of the country right now, so I can’t check.

Gamestop is running a promo where if you trade in a 360 or ps3 and put it towards a ps4, they’ll give you $175. Took advantage of that yesterday. So now I got a ps4 and this stick preordered. Just need to find a game to play now. :smiley:

no they didn’t. neither of the previous versions did. maybe because this is a prototype so it shipped like that? if the retail one comes protected i’m gonna be asian and leave mine on
