I saw it actually go up but wasnât sure about Arcade-Shockâs pre-order cancellation policy. Buying it from them, I can save so much money rather than having one shipped from the US. I hope they will add more because its still available on Amazon Japan.
Netherlands. But Nippon-Yasan allows you to pay the extra charges upfront when shipping through Trans-Logistics. Their shipping costs are much lower too. It would have been a great solution. But only from them, the extra costs are still at hand if I have any other service transport my order.
For the new VLX, Arcade Shock makes the most sense to US customers, who gets free shipping.
Looks to me Nippon Yasan is shipping the PS4 VLX as grey market.
As they claim the new Hrap VLX is a Amazon.co.jp Exclusive. That smells of Grey Market to me.
Oh this is Lultz worthy âNOT AVAILABLEâ & "ESTIMATED RELEASE DATE 2015-04-23"
If this donât raise red flags I donât know what will.
Sorry, I should have explained that a little better. Trans-Logistics allows me to pay the VAT upfront, so there wonât be any custom fees afterwards. The shipping is done through France so that stops such extra charges from occuring. The extra money paid upfront is used to get the item to me. Itâs a bulkshipping or whatever. I canât be sure how it works exactly. (I do agree with you bout Arcade Shock being the best for US customers, but being from the Netherlands, its not for me).
I donât know about Grey Market. As for not available, that occured after being on the site for 10 hours, I found it weird. It doesnât raise any red flags with me though. I use the site often. No issues yet.
The Black market deals with illegal, pirated and stolen goods.
Grey Market is called what it is because it sits in a Grey Area of the Law.
Grey market:
knock offs or imitation items (example the Paewang Arcade stick as its not licensed by MS or Sony)
Sales of items that violate that companies sales and license agreements but still have legal standing in the global market. (Example various Asian Import sites selling items that should be exclusive only to select distributors).
As an example of number 2, buying a Cannon or Nikkon Camera from a supplier in/from (lets say) Hong Kong (or someone who got their products from that supplier in Hong Kong)
instead of a licensed and authorized retailer/distributor. Or in our case You are getting your Hori arcade stick from a 3rd party buyer instead of a authorized vender/distributor.
Legally you are fine, as there nothing Hori of Japan can do to you. But if you didnât get their product from their authorized vender/dealer (For example of the VLX, Hori USA, Arcade Shock, Amazon.co.jp ect) if something breaks for example they donât have to honor the warranty.
Yeah I know the arcade stick industry hates Europe. Fighting Games is a niche market to begin with, add the cost of high import taxes and most European gamers ether say screw it and not get a stick or build their own.
Honestly as an American, I donât care about the European market.
The RAPV4 was certainly available in Europe, as I got mine from Amazon.co.uk (with enough notice regarding delivery that I was able to cancel my order from Japan). I had a RAP4 Kai on order with them, also - until the VLX showed upâŚ
Finally get a response from Hori USA & just as I expected, it took them almost one month after I emailed them. They confirmed the black stability board wonât be included. I assumed it wouldnât be since itâs not listed on their site but wanted to know for sure. If youâre using the VLX on a flat hard surface then it wonât matter but if youâre like me & using it on a soft surface (in my case, a cushion storage ottoman) then the stability board helps. They also confirmed they wonât ship it inside an outer box if you care about preserving the original/retail box.
I didnât realize until I did the math how much I saved by ordering from Hori USA. It was no tax and free shipping for me so $599.98 instead of $663.38 (7% sales tax here) with Arcade Shock if I got the outer box, $641.98 with no outer box. DamnâŚ
Way some of the European forum users were acting, I am pleasantly surprised to hear Hori is releasing the HRAP V4 in Europe at all.
The way some people complain, you think they are being denied some fundamental human right and not a privilege, a luxury.
I am not sure but according to Google, this is Hori USAâs address http://goo.gl/uOB5nH
1815 West 205th Street, Torrance, CA 90501
(310) 320-9933
I did a dry run, entered a item from their store in the cart and Entered California 92093 (San Diego) and hit Estimate shipping and tax and it came up as $8, the same as if I sent it to my home of Maryland.
No tax. Obviously since I donât like in San Diego I could not finish the purchase, so i donât know if tax still comes up or not, and I donât know Californiaâs sales tax laws (any more).
HoriUSA charged tax on me on dry run. Total came up to $325.49 with a $25.50 tax. I already ordered mine from Arcade Shock and the total was about $322 after tax. Both are in Socal and theyâre shipping up to me in Norcal. Hope that helps any.
Any of you guys have any suggestions on how to mitigate the hollow/tinny sound from the VLX? I was thinking of putting Styrofoam blocks or foam blocks on the inside. Has anyone tried that?
