My advice would be to learn a basic hero.
Learn Razor (Lightning Revenant) to start out. Just work on last hitting creeps. Do not auto attack because its scrubby. Think of it like Mashing psylocke assist when you’re auto attacking. I could tell u builds for any specific hero that u wanna learn.

My advise is to not start out playing the game with SA. It teaches you to be lazy b/c usually you could roam freely thru battle unless the opponent wises up and gets sight on you. You won’t learn zoning with SA whatsoever!
I enjoy dota…from early to mid game. To me late games becomes about mindless melee chars dominating everything.
BF on Mort is hot. Crit’s wiping out entire wave of creep is too good.

Give that guy a basher then to a BKB, and MKB and he just fucks everyone up. vladamir and satanic is the next 2 items i get if there is time… but most of the time i would end up with treads, headress, basher, bkb, mkb, and S&Y or butterfly.
for starters, i mostly suggest razor, or kardel. Me and my friends did try a game with no items, and SA and Broodmother turned out to be the most dominant when the level reach 25… maybe cuz there was no trent.

k i have a question, for rifle… do you guys go spreadshot at all? I saw a guy go guinsoo --> spreadshot, so i tried to mimic it and got bitched at.

Scatter shot is only good late game for clearing creep waves and when you have sufficient mana to do so. I usually dont bother with it at all unless its a team push on a tower. Never get it early game because its not really useful til lvl3 and the bigger creep waves. You also dont have the mana to spam it early game.

Viper might be a good hero to try. He’s fragile, which will force you to learn how to play smart. His attack is easy to last hit and deny with, and you can learn orbwalking with him.
just wondering, does viper still hold the solo power in 6.43b? Or do you think he feels a lot nerfed now?
I definitely think he’s still a great soloer. Amazing lane control, and you can easily destroy someone with orbwalking early game even while their creeps are around if they’re not extremely careful.
