I just finished 2 games on East.
Play some noob games first, or play with someone who can teach you. DOTA is a team game, so you have to learn to play as a team. Even if your score is like 50-0, it’s useless if you just run around killing people, while all your towers fall. Defensive is always the better option early on in the game. People usually don’t realize how fragile heroes are. Just stay behind your creeps, and try and get the last hit. Never run into the enemy creeps, if they start attacking you, run back until they stop. That’s all you need to know for the beginning!
I play on East with my WoW friends. I just started about a week ago and I’m still learning heroes, but I got the gist of things.

An 0 fer 20 Axe doesn’t make up for a 20-0 Bane.
That axe went for DPS for some reason…no HP, no armour…long story short, creeps were owning him up mid game. Can’t do shit when he’s afk half the game, and is always 5 levels behind with a shitty build.
