The Haunted Graveyard: Arthur Video Thread

Well are they wrong?

I don’t play on anywhere considered a “high level” but he’s fun as hell to use. He’s so unlike the rest of the cast that I can understand him being unpopular.

Do any of you guys play on XBL? I can’t get to any tournies at the moment otherwise I would be out there showing Arthur some love. It would be fun to get some practice games in with you all and share the Arthur frenzy.

Eh, I haven’t been going to WNF due to a broken stick. I’m working on Deadpool/Ammy/Arthur now, it hilarious how well Arthur’s daggers cover Ammy, she goes right under them. Arthur is probably the last person I’d remove from my team, he’s probably the most “broke” character on it.

Are you working on DHC glitching into Gold Armour with Deadpool? I haven’t really tried it in an actual combat, I always go for the easier damage. Plus I don’t know if it’s my timing, but I’m having a hard time landing a bottle after the air series into Goddess Bracelet. Besides that, it consumes three meters (Cutting Time, Gold Amrour, Goddess Bracelet) and I feel like that’s not efficient just to kill one character. I dunno, what do you think? I typically avoid it. I’d rather just combo from Trigger Happy into Goddess Bracelet if I need tag one out and then the other.

I agree, Arthur would be the last person I’d remove from my team. He’s so X-Factor lol! I’ve won way too many matches where I’ve been outplayed, then went with Gold Armour XFactor to come behind a kill three characters… or just projectile opponents to death.
When Arthur is full screen and fully powered up with meters, it’s almost a done deal… unless that character has a teleport or another way to quickly get in.

Dead’s cuttin’ time dhc’s well into gold armor.

Get someone to lend you a stick, man. I want to see Arthur. I haven’t been able to put him to use at all. I tried using him with Ammy, too. If you get blown up on a team with arthur, they can use X-factor to out-last your X-factor. =/

Never thought to add S. after GB!

Crazy, I was thinking the same thing! I’ll have to mess around with that tomorrow. It’s a nice trick if you have 3 bars to burn with a Lv 3 and go in for a kill.
Had some good wins today online with Arthur on anchor, saving my ass like always. I clutched out a nice combo into GB, man I wish I could save online replays in this game!

nice video of arthur match

Not bad but I think he was sitting still for too much of that match. His arthur had a lot of chances to punish with normal jumps and rapid crossbow. Is this guy still playing him?

good comment,
I am still new to this game, so I think he’s quite descent (newbies perspective)… any other input for the arthur?

btw, I think the the player is not maining Arthur, because on most video I saw him/her plays She Hulk team

ok the next video that I found shows that arthur is deadly with Level 3 X Factor

One of the biggest obstacles we have for maining Arthur is his mobility. No dash and floaty jumps but people underestimate this to a great extent and as such as bore a new style for Arthur. If you stick to normal jumps and fire off your scatter crossbow you can kill the frames landing by buffering his lance charge (forwad + H or C I believe) giving him some needed speed. That takes some timing but it covers your distance for nearly half the screen and cancels into s.S well making for some great pressure.

His daggers, I can never EVER compliment his daggers enough, they are so fast and reliable. Use them to advance your assists, use it as an assist to advance or pull back some, punish anti air and cancel to crossbow.

I generally say no to superjumping with Arthur unless you absolutely must. His double jump is a great way to mess with people though. By normal jumping forward and then jumping back you confuse your foe and get a great angle to fire off your crossbow bolts before landing into daggers, lances, axes or a lance dash.

This is pretty useful for Arthur:

And this is related to that but has nothing to do with Arthur, however it nearly killed me recording it so I’m going to put it here as well, where it’s in context at least:

I sj.FireBottle all the time as my way of getting in. :-/

Team combovid of Haggar/Arthur/Felicia:

Awesome vid, definitely front page material. Very unexpected damage and combo potential from this team. And lmao at the first song.

I was very happy to see the progress being made with Arthur, I didn’t have enough to show for my own video. That xfc sword juggle was fun but seeing him lock people down during the dhc glitch was stylish.

Some recent Arthur footage (yesterday) at the Box Arena tourney at Long Beach. Not too much Arthur action vs. Mr. Certified, but I had a good (and lucky) Arthur comeback vs. Y2J in the 2nd match. Too bad I got blown up on defense, I could have generated a bit more offense at some points with Deadpool before my team completely fell apart to a full rushdown team.

Moral of the story: Don’t rely on Arthur to put da team on his back, Wolverine is wunna da most hawdest hittin characters in da game.

Damn, you had it rough! Wolvie/Tron/Dante and then Mag + BFFs… Great job, though! You know Arthur is an effective anchor when people start snapping him in! It’s been happening to me a lot lately, too! It’s funny how people just don’t respect XF3 Arthur with meter. Good stuff.

How do you feel about the Arthur vs Magneto match-up? I actually feel it’s not so bad compared with the other top tiers.

It was rough once my incoming character had to block the mix-up, shit was hard as hell to block. But yeah, respect was definitely given from Y2J. I was surprised as hell when he snapped out Arthur, lol.

The Arthur vs. Mag match-up isn’t too bad, not as bad as Dorm or Dante. You just need to really watch out for the throw. EM Disruptor spam doesn’t work for long, and the conventional six dagger keep-away can cover his approaches pretty well.
