Dudes still struggling with these gimmicks and heās the champion. He needs to have one fight where he just rapes somebody. I havenāt read this fight, but I havenāt seen him dominate since he was an Amateur(Back in the 1980ās or whenever Ippo came out)

That was the cover for volume 77, and we are on 92-something now, and Woli was the last boxer.
The problem is Ippo only ever dominates when he first learns something new. Demspy Roll and Tekken both had him crushing his opponents, but then they just made them out to be suckers since he stops using them since they basically revealed 99 ways to kill the Dempsy Roll and every other fighter has DBZ level dodging skills. Iād honestly they just kill Ippo now and replace him with Sendo. At least Sendo does what he does best in his fights. He gets someone into a corner and rapes them, then gets beat on outside of the corner. What does Ippo have now? He gets beat up at every range. Even in matches like Sendo vs Shigeta (faux southpaw), at least you see Sendo rage up at the end and end Shigetaās miserable career, but do you think Ippo would ever beat anybody up so bad that theyād never step back into the ring again? Iām beginning to get tired of the main character as he gets no justice and his tools are just really flawed.
Letās be honest, Ippo is probably the only fighter that fights better unconscious than when heās fully aware and awake against his opponent apparently.
You know, Iāve always thought that someone is going to die in HnI, whether it might be Kamogawa (in reflection to Cus DāAmato, or someone dies in the ring. I hope that Woli gets the dirty end of this shit stick and gets canned ASAP and his coach cries all the way back to america.

Ippo finds a way to beat Woli and lays a pefrect corner beatdownā¦but since Ippoās been knock up a bit he doesnāt hear the gong and continues to beat Woli in fear of him slipping out. It ends up with Ippo actually* killing* Woli.
Its ok tho, cuz its boxing. That would be the only way to salvage this fight. A fucking bloodbath.
Whatās wrong with Woli smiling. To implement that type of fighting style you have to be relaxed and confident. You try being elusive in the ring tense and short of confidence youāre going to be more rigid meaning you wonāt react in time.
People also need to accept that Ippo isnāt that good. I donāt care how long heās been boxing for, heās a regional champ, an amateur gave him problems, the world champ only used his jab on him.
Well for starters, itās annoying as fuck to see a complete amateur, smiling while beating the SHIT out of the main character in a boxing manga, using other peoples techniques while not even being aware that they existed.
All while being able to just be a complete retard in the ring and smiling obliviously into the horizon.
Yeah. Itās a fucking eyesore. I donāt think you could even say Woliās smile is an implementation of his āfighting styleā because heās almost 95% oblivious about boxing to the point of not knowing how to guard himself properly, and that shit is fake to the max. Heās just a happy āduh duh duhhhā kid.
You donāt care how long Ippoās been boxing for? We do. And you should too, because itās just too relevant. His history of boxing shows us how good heās gotten at boxing. Being regional champ is being on top of your shit. Although heās had problems against dumb ass shit like Gedoās tricks, this is taking it to a whole new level. Woliās not confident heās going to win, heās confident heās going to āhave funā.
Complete waste of chapters in a good manga.
He has raped a guy before. Beat him w/o using the Dempsey Roll. It was an awesome fight, and gave me hope that Ippo wouldnāt be flailing around like a pussy later on in his career, but Woli just fucked that all up.

Poor Karasawa gets DOMINATED 9 chapters straight, and I loved every single minute of it. Artwork was spectacular. I laughed myself silly when dude thought his side had been blown away by Ippoās punch. Canāt wait till it gets animated.
Stop seeing punches as āātechniquesāā. Itās his way of throwing a jab, throwing an uppercut. Ippo used a āāJofre uppercutāā without having trained for it.
I guess itās the mangakaās fault for over glorifying certain punches by naming them and shit but really people need to stop seeing these punches as special techniques.
So what if he is smiling? I wouldnāt say heās acting like a retard just his lack of experience. Heās relaxed and heās having fun have you never seen a boxer smile in the ring before? Not everyone has this serious āāIma pound you into the groundāā facial expression.
No it is part of his style. To do what heās doing you have to be confident/relaxed which he is.
No I donāt give a shit how long heās been boxing for. Mathew Hatton has been boxing for a long time and he is regional champion or was donāt really follow his career. Point is the guy is garbage I wouldnāt be at all surprised if someone with pure talent blasted his ass. Chavez jr has had what 40 pro fights pretty sure he has a belt to his name, heās garbage too.
Ippo isnāt some boxing god, the fact that heās getting embarrassed isnāt unrealistic and it isnāt a shock. It just highlights what level he is at.
Trying to remember one fo the fights where Ippo gets the tekken liver blow and it looks like he just blew away the other fighterās whole torso. I want to make an AV of it. Anyone know offhand so I donāt have to go digging?

I thought the first couple chapters of this fight were pretty good and I donāt mind Woliās jumping shenanigans other than the drive B bullshit. Once you can read it all in one sitting it wonāt be as bad, itās just the waiting week to week and seeing Ippo struggle when we want him to do wellā¦ Thatās what is aggravating.
Reading it in 1 sitting or not the whole fight is just entirely stupid.
Gedo I can deal with but this match is just completely stupid. Woli has NO IDEA what heās doing.

That doesnāt count since if you noticed, most of Ippoās old opponents retired no matter what their status was.
Jason Ozuma - retires afterwards.
Kenta Kobashi - After losing to Ippo, wins Jr. Feather Weight title and then retires without defending.
Keigo Okita - retires to become a trainer after losing to Ippo.
Kazuki Sanada - retires to be a doctor after losing to Ippo.
Keichi Take - retires to become a trainer after losing to Ippo.
Notice the characters that all retired after Ippo beat them or close after? Theyāre basically characters that fought Ippo to retire into oblivion because nobody cared about those characters. This is just a case of the mangaka deciding to write them off completely rather than have them be annihilated by Ippo. The ones he does utterly destroy we never hear from again, but they are never mentioned to have retired, only the people who push Ippo retire.
