The Hajime no Ippo (HnI) thread - Gazelle Punch Her in the Gut!

I think it was Geneon who brought Fighting Spirit to the states. They went out of business though so the sets will be hard to get. I did see a two volume set (like 35 episodes in each volume) a little while ago at Suncoast though.

When I bought the set, I got it from Anime Castle and Anime Nation. You have to buy the DVDs separate, though, and there are 15 total. That doesn’t include the OVAs, which I believe were never released officially.

Agreed on HnI going prime time. It needs to get more exposure. So underrated.

They have the seperate volumes with 5 episodes on one DVD, and two huge volume sets with like 8 DVDs each.

Champion Road was released in the US, but Geneon declined to bring the Kimura OVA over :sad:

Alright guys, I’m on chapter one sadly. i will read this and catch up soon hopefully. I saw bits and pieces of the anime and loved it so I got really interested in the manga.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/ This site here had at least 50 copies of collection 1 and 2 a year ago. I just checked now and it’s all gone.

Do not get Champion Road dvd if you plan to get the second collection because it comes with it. I bought Champion Road before the second collection and was pretty pissed ;/. 30 dollars down the drain.

:p: chapter 857 :p:

Moooowwwgliiiii

Man, on the last page, top left panel with the two monkeys, Mowglii’s got some freaky ass perverted face.

Creepy.

I like that we finally see Hawk’s trainer again though. I liked him, all one fight of him.

Miguel also makes an appearance…

[details=Spoiler]
Miguel also appears in the Kamogawa flashback story.[/details]

well damn…Hawk was basically fashioned after PNH. lol. PNH was an arrogant boxer that had a hands-down stance also.

agreed, while I do like the anime, it just cant compare to the manga, I dunno how many times I’ve jumped out of my chair on some of the fights, too epic.

As for chap 857, I was expecting to see miguel back again, but not with such a weird boxer, should be interesting.

haha@ jungle book

ok, i just watched ep 25.

]seems they have skipped the kamogawa/nekoto flashback story completely and are planning to make it into an ova/movie later on. preview on ep 26 showed that the season will end with chapter 416 which pretty much confirms that they are going to make a new season in a few months. [/spoiler

[details=Spoiler]

as for the new raw that’s out

[spoiler=chapter 858]i like the direction this is going. mowgli seems to be a refreshing character.[/details]

[spoiler=] exact opposite for me. seems like it’ll be a pretty boring fight. No interest in this guy whatsoever. When was the last time Ippo had an epic fight? Hopefully they don’t focus on this guy too much and get back to Takamura or even Kimura or Aoki. It’s pretty obvious ippos gonna knock this guy out, he needs an epic fight to get him back in the spotlight, not random nobodies.[/details]

The last time Ippo had an epic fight?

Sendou rematch.

(new av =D)

God damn BigWorm that AV is fucking hilarious. :rofl:

that was an epic battle indeed, I need to rewatch that fight. and love that av man

I’m talking manga-wise. I really can’t remember…

Epic fight? I guess it would be Ippo/Sawamura?

I’m personally fond of Ippo/thatdudewhowaslikeranked6thandgotownedreallybadly because it showed Ippo as a total badass and actually being smart about what he’s doing.

ā€œSTAY DOWN!!ā€

much love <3
