Yeah, nothing is really happening. Now would actually be an excellent spot to take a year or so long break from the manga. I love HnI, but following it weekly is a pita. One reason why I actually enjoyed the Gonzalez fight is that I didn’t actually read it until it was almost over, I hadn’t read Ippo for about a year or so at that point. Actually maybe more, I think I had gotten quite fed up after the Woli fight, and while I may have read a few chapters after that at some point, for the most part I had stopped before the Gonzalez fight.
I took a year or so off Bleach and when I went back to it it was still shit. The only manga that I take breaks on are Berserk cause Miura loves going MIA for long spells and previously HSDK, those arcs were so much better to take in via 1 sitting.

I picked up the Wii Ippo game today for $1.50. I don’t know if I’ll ever play it. I just knows every time I have found the game it’s gone for like 20-35.
I haven’t heard anything bad about it outside of when you face Date as Ippo in story mode you have to lose. But if it’s the story of Ippo you losing is kind of a “duh” thing and not really a valid complaint.
Too bad it’s never happening. He’ll die of brain damage still a virgin.

Isn’t this how Wii Punch-Out ended? You got that extra mode with Little Mac where if you lose three times you retire for good. Ippo’s 21-2 now.
Also, this throws in the possibility of a “Ashita no Joe” scenario where Ippo eventually fights Ricardo or Miyata and either dies in the ring or has a Pyrrhic victory where he has to retire anyway because he wore himself down too much.
