to be fair americans have gotten this box set mentality now. Thats why u see alot of box sets out…which is also a big part to combat piracy since their thin boxsets now which are alot cheaper. As well as geneon refused to make a boxset for ippo. I honestly was waiting for a box set. I still want a box set.

It’s all about Blu Ray now. I want to see Ippo season 2 on Blu Ray, but even if they don’t do it, I’ll probably get it anyway.

Yeah, I thought the translation was fine. Sure, the font was pretty big and the font type probably isn’t the best, but it was accurate.

This anime is one of the best of all time, PERIOD. 2nd season will be hot. I haven’t seen a request for a 2nd season of an anime like this before. It even had a petition…

Now if only we could get Tenjho Tenge and Trigun back up…

Yeah I hope saizen doesn’t get lazy with the subbing like they did with other sports anime like Major or Eyeshield 21. Whenever I see a good anime that no one has the time to get it subbed I would just shift to reading the manga version. I’m glad in the new season they still stuck with the same art design as the one they had for the movie.

actually it’s 7 years since the last ova came out and quite frankly i don’t think petition had anything to do that a second season is now aired either.

the american response on ippo was bad when it aired. dvd sales of the series did not break even. (only 5000 dvd’s sold) blame the lack of marketing and the negative appeal that a “sports” anime has on the mainstream audience.

let’s hope this will change with the new season.
