Yeah, it happened in a two or three page fight. Ippo cursed Hayami with a glass jaw, so Kenta knocked his ass out for the belt. Kenta lost the next match and retired.

The ref is kind of a dope. Ippo should always fight like this, heās the champ, if the other guy wants to play keep away and run away then the other guy pretty much forfeited. I donāt see why the champ would be required to bull into the challenger.
Ippo is probably going to get a quick knockdown like usual though, and show once again that he actually has no power. Dude never finishes a guy off with one punch or one knockdown, they always get up. Well, there was that one Indonesian jobber where he invented the Dempsey Roll, but even that was multiple punches. Plus that was a jobber anyway. Miyata one shots jobbers with broken hands lol. And Miyata allegedly has no power (yet he has plenty of one punch KOs).
After this guy gets back up, he will beat on Ippo for the next 5 rounds. Then Ippo will use plot armor and plot sword to win automatically. Then he will be all beat up, his opponent will get up before him, the crowd will cheer, and he will walk out. Ippo will struggle out afterwards, needed help just to stand.
Think of something new already Morikawa. Seriously stop using the same damn match for 30 years.
Thatās why I really hope we get to see Ippo completely and utterly destroy someone for a change. Let him feel guilty about it later.
Watch the next chapter just be the ref holding up Ippoās hand and declaring him the winner.

I donāt understandā¦itās likeā¦apparently EVERY fight that Ippo has, regardless of the opponents skill level etc, he is going to struggle and grind through it. Not all boxing matches are wars.
