What does Guy say in Japanese after his forward throw?
As translated from the game to English it says Useless, so in Japanese somewhere along those lines. What he says exactly, I don’t exactly know.
So I’ve been having a bit of problem vs El fuerte. I win a bit more than 50% of games but it feels wrong because my opponent sucks. I stomped his main really easily then he switch to elf I have zero match up experience and it seems to me that every wakeup is a dice roll, if I guess wrong it starts over again and over again… I know that focus can crumble that jump slam move of his but aside from that i have no clue what to do
Any general advices on this MU ?
That’s how he is, his game is basically nothing but gimmicks and gambling. The best option for escaping is to backdash or forward Dash, otherwise its best to learn how to block and read where he is going to land. Also jumping in on him when he has meter is frowned upon. He cant do much on wake up though and that’s where Guy gets him. Make him waste a meter for whatever he can do on wakeup. Experience against him is like finding a needle in the hay stack. It’s rare, and not many chances. You’ll just have to do with what you have, possibly even learn the gist of Elf for yourself if necessary.
Haha yeah his ex aa move is pretty damn good,I learned it the hard way
Guess I’ll try elf out a bit in training mode then, thanks.
I think Target Combo into Run Slide, Back Dash then Low Hozanto beats ELF’s Ex Run and Whiffs against his Ex Up Kick on wake. But his back dash wins.
Does his Ex Up kicks hit standing opponents? Also Any hozanto beats ex run.
^No Elf’s Ex Up-Kicks do not hit standing opponents. And all Hozantos can beat Elf’s Ex Run. A glass shattering effect should take place at the collision. I think Ex Hozanto is better equip to catch Elf’s Ex Run in general.
I’ve lost my touch in Guy :l, I went 0-2 today, dropped combos, did bad decisions… I even threw away a FADC U1 that would have won the match.
I’m utterly disappointed. To the point I did much better in KOF XIII execution wise.
Shit happens man and FADC U1 is much harder than ryu/ken herpderp DP ultra, dropping it once in a while is completely normal.
Yesterday I dropped a fucking bushin chain (LOL) and got pwned by masher seth ;p I was sooooooooo mad salty but then I had a good laugh about it haha
DJ Match was just horrid, I already knew I was going to lose because DJ just has the better round start and for some reasons all of his standing AA, just beat my jumps at whatever distance.
Chun is where the dumb stuff happened. No OS. nada… just ._. ugh why didnt I just go for FADC… I can land it 95% of the time on P2 side and I didn’t even bother to go for it… time to just go into training mode and go to casuals… and hopefully someone plays AE cause I’m tired of EVERYONE playing SFxT.
Do certain wake-up frames create more stun on hit? If you land the last hit of normal overhead you can link it into crLk on some ones wake. So a set-up I was practicing on Ryu goes like: Forward Throw, Forward Jump, instant Run into a late Running Overhead, Bushin Chain into Ex Hozanto for 314 damage if Ryu is standing.
Seems to be more of a hit on the frame, similar thing with resets in the corner and hitting them with run overhead, It’ll give you like +4/5
Hi there Guy players, I have a question regarding the flying grab move of his, not sure what it’s called. There’s an EX move he does where he jumps forward and floats towards you and then grabs you no matter what you do. Just how do I defend myself from this really good move that he has? Thanks.
Crouch
Crouch + Normal, especially if he is doing a one frame grab, if its timed correctly your move will come out and most likely beat out elbow or cause it whiff as the grab will not connect, If its just for coming at you… just AA him by crouching then doing normal. the move is slower than the normal ones so it shouldn’t be too hard to react.
Thanks for the more detailed and thought out answer, really appreciate it. I’ll try the crouch + normal/AA. If I crouch I will be able to block it if my normal wiffs right? I was under the impression that it’s an overhead.
All versions of elbow are not overhead, so you can block them crouching, I wish Guy had them as an overhead, but you have to time the AA correctly or you’ll get beaten unless it s ahigh priority move and depending on who you play you may possibly have a low profile normal that will cause elbow to whiff. (Ryu’s cr mk.)
Thank you, will keep that in mind.
However if its a one frame grab, the elbow will always whiff.
