Delay the elbow instead of letting it out early that can be done to EX headbutt and it’ll beat it. Probably applies to lariat and EX bird. Otherwise safejump and punish
thanks man, but I wasn’t really looking for advice lol, just telling him in what case elbow loses to those moves. Delaying the elbow only works if they do the move on wakeup or improperly timed. I’m talking about them seeing the elbow, and doing a reaction reversal which would beat it.
Sorry if this was posted somewhere but I was wondering if Guy has any specific to punishing Guile’s cr. rh (the two swing sweep). My friends just tell me to focus attack the first hit and counter, is there anything easier or anything Guy specific I can do (especially after I block the first hit). Can I neutral jump and combo?
Hey, there have been a few instances where it seems like my ex cmd dash will eat 2 hits. This has never applied to say an ex hadouken, or sonic boom, but say like a lp hadouken, and a jab. This happen to any one else, or am I just seeing things?
yes guy’s run has multiple hits of armor so it can absorb more than one hit before he can be struck out of it
@Kankurou: You can focus the first hit and hit before the 2nd comes out. Or you can block the first and do mk tatsu afterwards. I like this punisher better. You can jab him out of the sweep. I don’t think you can neutral jump out after the first hit.
@ShineErection: It does absorb 2 hits total but it won’t absorb if you’re too close to them when they throw an EX projectile.
Can anyone advise me on what anti-airs guy has, and what kind of decent pokes he has? Does he have any kind of “get off me” move, like Shoto shoryu or Makoto’s s.mp?
EX BSK is his best anti air by far, can work for cross-ups as well, timing is tricky though. TK Izuna drop (preferably EX) is the next best thing. Cr. strong is his main normal anti-air, but st. roundhouse and cr.forward work as well. St. forward is arguably his best poke, but cr. strong has a nice hitbox, and far st. strong has really good range, even cr. fierce is a nice move to throw out once in a while. EX hurricane kick is his main reversal, but it’s unsafe and can’t be FADCed. Otherwise, backdashing or jumping out is all he really has if he doesn’t have meter.
I’ve been messing around with running up then cancel and Ultra II. I’ve noticed that the grab is not 1 frame. It can get stuffed out. I’m wondering…Whats the best use of his Ultra II other than EX run–>cancel?
Stuffed by what exactly. Cause only 0 frame would make it so you wouldnt get stuffed mind you.
I can’t even find the inputs for the slide > ult 2.
you can’t grab their invincibility frames, if the thing you’re referring to as stuffing it has invincibility frames. run stop u2 is a bad idea anyway imo, unless they like to randomly throw shit out on their wakeup. a simple backdash ruins u2’s plans
TC xx Run/stop, has its 50/50
Atdeus… there is no way you will ever manage to get Run/slide to U2 one because slide is unsafe on block. You can possibly get Cr.HK if done safely to bait for a normal and do U2
Has anyone else tried using Ninja Sickle(df+HK) as an anti-air?I just used a couple matches ago and it was very successful.Didn’t get time to test it and now I’m off to sleep.Does anyone know if it’s actually a versatile anti-air or was I just lucky?When the game first came out there was alot of talk about anti airs and we seemed to have come to a conclusion,but I never heard of anyone talking about using Ninja Sickle as one.
since guy got armor properties in his ex run dash. Which leads me to think that he can armor cancel to his ultra. but i dont think his armor cancelling to ultra is very useful. any ideas?
Is doing mk Run/stop more safe than double tapping lk Run/stop? I see a lot of top Guys doing it but I never thought about it…
They are probably just pianoing the keys, since you can run with any kick .
Yes he can, its strict timing and yes it is useful because it can kill any safe jump attempt made by the opponent as shown by alioune for U2 and it is possible for U1

Against opponents who like to crouch and mash out jabs (i.e. Ryu, Boxer, Guile) I have had two solutions. TC combo and cr.jab, st.hp, med. hurricane. Which do you recommend? I know the over head is an option but I don’t know if anything combos off of it. Is there another solution I am missing

What is the most damaging combo off of a level 1 or 2 FA dash? right now I am using either throw or st. hp to med. hurricane (I think it does like 250). Should I dash into the 4 hit TC?
Characters that Mash out jab. St HP, it will stand them up on CH which can lead to TC with a follow up or cr jab or lk whichever you prefer into TC or MP xx RSL or whatever.
Off an FA, Have a lot of options. you can land Bushin Chain or TC, Depending on the character you can cl HK, Bushin Chain or TC whatever you prefer really. Watch some Combo videos you’ll get the idea. Always Dash after an FA hits… if it doesnt you can still BD or FD
