OK I just had command elbow cross up on a Honda and he blocked it the other way but I landed behind him. Anyone else experience this?
Not on honda but Ibuki during her focus it crossed up.
Blockstrings?
Asking what Guy’s Blockstrings are?
Yes sir.
cr lp x2 or 3 , st mp into run/stop or lp hozanto.
TC xx runstop to whatever normal you prefer, but I would go for cr. mk, st mp, cr mp, cr lp, cr lk, cr hp, possible even st hp depending on how close you are.
TC xx Bushin Flip elbow, cr lp…
(if facing a male character) TC xx Run/overhead
TC xx Lp hozanto
you can sub the cr lps with lk or mix the two. I highly recommend sometime going for overhead in your strings, or cr hp or even st mk., if you are spaced where it is safe, Cr HK works too.
But this is what I mostly see Guy players and myself do… I mainly fish for CH.
I got into an argument with somebody a couple days ago about whether or not TC xx run/stop is safe. He claimed to be a Guy main. I know it is but can some one tell me the exact frame data? Thanks.
The run have 1 frame start up and the sudden stop is 17. If you do not take any more time than necessery it takes 18frames to complete a run stop. It’s safe… when you use it sparingly, but it can be safe.
By the way, i did an Elbbow cross up against an Ibuki (in versus, can’t record that :/). What’s the exact set-up off that shenaningan ? I think it may recquire to catch the opponent in a special that move them forward but i’m not sure.
Oh and a Ken whiffed his c.HK at close range. I’ll have to check but 'im sure it wasn’t after a safe jump or anything like that.
Is it me or Guy have a weird hit box ?
And the ranking systems is stupid, i clearly doesn’t deserve the place that i’m at right now. I either found really strong people that uterly destroy me or players against i win in auto mode. Only one match in ten is against someone of my skill that can be a bliss to play (a win or a loss doesn’t matter in those match)
Doing it immediately after run its safe and can bait for reversal, however NEVER do it against anyone with an SPD because they can reversal grab you. It’s useful because you can bait and keep applying pressure etc. It’s a useful strat. but mix it up.
OK I just crossed up an Ibuki with command elbow it hit and I was able to combo after…wtf?
counterhit leaves just enough frames to combo.
Trouble linking elbow drop to st.MP.
Guys, can you offer some tips/advice on linking the elbow drop to the st.MP? I seem to be having consistency problems with this because the link varies depending on when the elbow drop hits the opponent. That is, if I am hitting the opponent directly above, st.MP input should be slightly delayed to connect, but if I hit the opponent deep or when they are crouched, the st.MP input can be done immediately. It’s quite frustrating…
You can just do Bushin Chain after elbow drop. Why do you want st.MP for?
I’m not questioning that I was able to combo, I’m questioning why it crossed up, and it was normal hit anyway.
Because if they are crouching, Bushin Chain won’t connect.
so do cr. lp then st. mp simple.
That is actually my alternate combo. What do you use?
Im no expert , but the few times ive been able to crossup with the elbow and possibly combo off of it ( not always aware of course ) i THINK is due to the opponent doing a move with some forward momentum , meaning when you do crossup , it will be a counterhit and more easily comboable.
I wish i had examples , but the only thing i can think of ( since my friend plays rufus ) is Rufus`s cr.hp , which has a really funky hitbox. It moves rufus forward , and it becomes a counterhit crossup due to the way his hitbox acts. My other friend plays viper , and ive gotten it way less , if at all against him. Exception being focus attacks , where it works on perhaps everyone , but since it absorbs , its a bit different.
I always do cr.lp after elbow or crossup mk.
Yeah , that or st.mp(chain st.hp xx lp shoulder ) . Otherwise i block ech , fish for punish.
