With all of the different “tricks” they gave Chun-Li, I really don’t understand why she has/needs a projectile.

really? that should mean you can throw as well right? since like close s.jab it’s 3 frame start up? awhile ago i was trying different things after focus forward dashing throw hasanshu but i couldnt get anything to work. I was actually trying stuff in training mode with shizza but he was able to block my normals and tech my throws, i swear i even tried forward dash lk super. i will definitely take this to the lab.

I know boxer can FA > dash > combo chun’s hazanshu pretty easily, but guile’s dash still feels a bit slow to do this. Either way, it always feels super dangerous when you tag chun with a lvl 1 FA vs. Hazanshu. That’s ALOT of grey damage to have when she has so many options of getting in. Plus, I’d bet money that she can probably super a lvl 1 FA cancelled into a forward or backward dash easily. Maybe even ultra vs. the backdash… who knows, that ultra is pretty fast, ya know.
Anyways, absolutely fantastic match Warahk. You play very smart and very patient, throwing out TONS of baits that, while most of the time, Shizza didn’t bite, it still made him reluctant to attempt unsafe pressure and made your booms pretty unpredictable. I’d say that you missed a couple AA’s, but the few times you didn’t AA her j.lk, you probably would have been hit by her j.hk if she had stuck that out instead. I’m not too sure how I would have played the match differently… maybe I would have used more b.hk and s.hp to keep her back a little bit more, but even I know what a gamble it can be to throw those out against her fast sweep. More than likely, I would have got quickly infuriated that he was building ultra so fast and rushed in to make some bad decisions.

lol I always throw chuns out when they try to hazanshu my sb.
She can be thrown out of poorly spaced ones. Like if she does a heavy one right in your face, she is flying over you too high which allows her to be air thrown. Overall smarter Chuns know how to space it out. However, I do believe that flip move is incredibly seeable, and I just usually flash kick her out of it. That’s for Chuns who try to punish you for ducking.
Thanks Slinkun. Yeah, theres no way guile is ultrable after a lvl 1 focus backdash on hit, but you might be right about chun being able to super it on hit. ill test it in training mode. I probably should’ve thrown out a few more normals like you said, and i think i miss a lot of anti airs against shizza for some reason. I feel that most of the videos of me on youtube are of me losing lol, you saw me lose to shady k right? i think if you just search ‘warahk’ on youtube all of my vids will come up. As far as i know that name isn’t used elsewhere.
Yeah if you get frustrated about her ultra building you will die (ive lost like this so many times, im trying to play this match more patiently now). Guile cant rush chun for shit in my opinion.
when i asked if it was throwable i meant after a a focus forward dash, imo it is way too risky to go for throw regularly. the timing is really strict, slight miss timing means you take a 300 damage combo against a chun that has good execution.

either way its really tough to hazanshu on guile without getting punished unless it was random or psychic.

nice match, jumping in at balrog is impossible! his s.mp and c.hp are broken…
it looks like you also have trouble anti airing balrog, i swear i feel like im just better off blocking sometimes. it feels like he can just wait for boom and jump on reaction. i know it’s a guessing game once he’s in the air but i feel like it’s a guess in rog’s favor.
right now i use j.roundhouse, backhand, c.fierce, and airthrow against rog… are there other anti airs i should be using? (other than flash kick of course)
No, you can’t really do this. It’s really unsafe. If the hazan shu hits with the tip of the foot you wont be able to throw her. I just do a quick tap of f+mp+mk, then dash and do close s.jab > s.jab > s.strong > SB. This works against the close s.rh > hazan shu pressure, the s.strong > hazan shu pressure, and the knockdown to meaty FB > hazan shu pressure that you see a lot of Chun’s do. This timing is really wierd to get the close s.jab to hit her but with practice it becomes a really useful tool against chunli.

I see Dagger’s Guile, Dieminion, many people in here and they are great. Really good…but then I watch GeoM vids and it’s a different animal all together.
So entertaining, so in-your-face, I can’t help but be impressed. We’ve already established that his execution and reaction is above norm, but it’s very nice to see what he does with that.
