Yoshiwo deserved to win that match against that sagat player who was a grandmaster, although I’m not sure how far behind Mago this guy is.
fadc input timing

Nice but not necessary. Ultra connects after the crumple and there is no chance of messing it up with dash to Ultra, as that’s still not gonna be easy to pull of…regardless of how much you practice it.

Seeing all the great input and help that comes from this thread, and the fact that I finally had a match of me recorded, I figured I would post them up for your guys input and some help on my game.
As you can see, it is a Guile mirror match. The other Guile is very good, and went on to come 3rd as part of this tournament.

At the very beginning of the first match, for some reason I couldn’t get any sonic booms out lol…so in case you were wondering why I start a match just punching a whole lot…that normally doesn’t happen. I play the red Guile in the first vid and the yellow Guile in the second vid.Took me a while too to adjust to the mirror match type of play.
Please, any criticism and improvements would be greatly appreciated 
That’s some text books zoning in the Gief match that he lost 1st round, and the Gief match that he won. You can’t play any better than that against Gief.
RE: forward dash Ultra
I use it against a blocked Cammy Ultra as well, perfect spacing and recovery for practicing (and doing) dash Ultra, other wise very hard to hit her with anything better than a hk.FK or whopping boom damage.

I dont think this Guile was better than you. I just think he was more aggressive than you. You backed yourself into a corner a lot so that hurt you. You also missed a lot of chances to punish his jump ins with your AA’s. I’d just try to be a little more aggresssive and advance toward your opponent in the future.

Getting good with Guile is going to be a little challenging. I’m sure any Guile player in these threads will agree with that. But you just have to practice and know your stuff and playing with him can be very rewarding. Good luck with that.

What’s up with the commentary? It’s not radio - I can see that “he’s blocking” or “landed the ultra”. I’d much prefer to hear about the meta game and a bit of background for each player at the outset.
