OK, wtf is that at 5:35? Guile didn’t even charge at all for his ultra. He was walking forward when Chun started hers, then reversed with his own ultra.

I was under the impression that during the ultra “freeze”, your model can’t move, but you can still charge normally. Incorrect?

Are the ultra “freeze” times the same for every char? Do we have frame data?

there are some Ultras that straight up beat Guiles Ultra even if it was done after…but weirdly enough an EX Flash Kick will tag those Ultras
I’ve been in the occasional situation where it’s plausible; I suppose much of Guile’s game is situational.
correct. i was going up against a chun and just messing around. i did a jab boom but she did the ultra kinda slow so i knew i would recover in time to block but i already won to rounds so i just decided to try some crap and what you know, i charged enough for the ultra.
Some punkass Ryu just tried to meaty ultra me after knock-down from sweep range: this little snippet of knowledge just got me an easy 1 bp. Yeah.
lol could have probably even done a safer ex flash kick.
Meaning against Bison, Chun, Abel, Honda, Ken, Rufus and Ryu, even if walking forward, you can counter ultra (if at right range)? That could seriously change my impression of how little I use his ultra.
dont forget sagat, you can always neutral or forward jump.

Yoshiwo used the EX Flash Kick to good effect against fireballers. If timed correctly, EX Flash Kick will go through fireballs (EX ones included)…
So i guess to ensure that you get it right, do you execute it just before the fireball touches you? :wonder:
doesnt matter too much when yo do the ex flash kick. if you have good reflex, once you see or hear the hadoken then do the ex flash kick.
Are you using the b.MK as a timing mechanism for your sonic booms?
heh i use fk to punish fireballs, but it is hard use ex fk instead.

I’m about 90% sure the game doesn’t consider all the different “black out” times to be the same amount of time, mostly cause the clock’s still running during then and all the characters have different lengths of “black outs”. This is just theory fighter, but I think you could charge an Ultra during Sagat’s black out cause it’s so long, but I don’t think you could charge one during Ken’s black out cause it’s really fast.
