The Guile Video thread

Great work Syngin, good matches etc

really appreciate all the video posts, syngin, helped my game a ton, thank you

There really were a plethora of air throws in that Ken fight.

Thanks for the help. I was actually doing that, but my opponent was starting to punish me for it, so…

I would just like to say THANKYOU for taking the time to share your knowledge with the rest of us.

I have learned a lot about how I am playing guile (mostly what I’m doing wrong) from your videos and now I have a lot of new things to practice.

yeah that’s a big disadvantage to the use of charge characters: you need to forego your back-charge when your opponent goes on the offensive…especially when your opponent attempts to do a cross-up. def more patience is required in order to find an opening you can take advantage of, all the while making sure you’re charging back so you can link your normals with SB when required.

@syngin:

yup those match videos are appreciated. very easy to download too under Internet Explorer with realplayer video download plugin. it’s nice considering you’re forced to register on the site (supposedly) to download the vids.

Kaqn(Ryu) vs. Yoshiwo(Guile)

Happa(Rufus) vs. Yoshiwo(Guile)

That was an awesome match.

Kaqn has tightened his game up considerably. Also, at 1:36 Yoshiwo uses The Kick Of No Apparent Use - that alone qualifies him as a Guile master.

Yeah i saw that kick at the 1:36 mark, but i’m not sure whether he intended that or not. If he did, then its a masterclass. This guile player also had a watertight defense and plenty of patience with out the use of flashy combos, so this is one of the best guiles i have seen to date.

There’s no other reason to use it. Tabletop or hop kick would have been pointless in that situation.

The st.hk is a good move for when they are almost crossing you up. Its also his strongest normal clocking in at 130 damage

Still trying to find a consistent way to land it; got anything for s.mk(close)? Same thing, I guess…

The cl.mk is a safer version of the cl.hk, because if you space the hk wrong, you get the far st.hk, which of course will get stuffed by the jump in. The far st.mk however, will turn into the cl.mk if they are near you, which means you’re more likely to get the anti air, but do less damage.

  • 5:42 == whee!

brilliant use of the clock even tho the perception during the Ultra zoom in is that time “freezes” which is not the case

in round three it was funny to see ken get air thrown twice in the space of a few seconds after a sonic boom. :rofl:

Can you input your ultra when you see the opposing player’s ultra animation or did he just time it perfectly to be just after chun did hers?
