damn nice. that dude plays a lot cleaner than me. more patient too. i notice he hardly caught him in any air grabs, i guess he plays so differently that it’s never set up for him to grab him like that. when i play JR its air grabs all day lol. but cool his style works and probably better too. I always thought my shit looked hectic and like i just pull shit out of my ass and compared to this it proves it more. I also read his description and its true what he says about JR setting up his demon. hes sneakier than anybody at that shit. catch you with it random as fuk and win

That was a good AA ultra, but he missed it in the second round. What I don’t get is: the ultra consists of three flash kicks but it is horrible as AA. Shouldn’t this ultra be more effective against air-borne opponents than grounded ones.

Killabyte, that is a NICE Guile. I like everything about it. Clean, precise, patient, smart. Nothing fancy, just cold, calculated zoning with great footsies. You let your opponents beat themselves, and you just helped them along a bit. Every bit the efficiency expert Guile was designed to be.
All I can offer is on the Abel match, there was at least one s.FP counter hit that you might have been able to tack on another one. I don’t know. Close as those were, it could have made the difference. Also maybe some empty jump in setups on the Gouken match could have helped? Again, I don’t know. It’s easy to armchair QB it. Please share any more videos in the future; this is just the kind of stuff I need when I step back and reevaluate my game!
I think of this as the inherent design flaw of Guile’s ultra; theoretically it is an AA, but it does the best damage to a character on the ground. A touch too early and you get three chumped out hits, a touch too late and it is fully blocked for very little chip damage.
Fixed that for you.
Good stuff. I dunno what I would have done against Abel there. He’s a tough match for Guile. It’s just hard to keep him out, and his crossup is too good against Guile. One thing against Gouken is you should keep an eye out for c.strong > gadouken. You can FK him between these two moves cause his gadouken has alot of startup. You could have got him when he had you cornered. It’s just like FK’ing ryu’s through c.forward > FB only easier since gouken’s like to 2-in-1 that c.strong more than ryu’s like to 2-in-1 theirs.
you did great, looks like a lot of us here have leveled up our play…but you’re execution was excellent. As for Abel i dont think there was a whole lot you could have done… other than that you are a pretty solid

would you guys agree that gouken is a tough match for guile? i really struggled against a gouken recently. his zoning was superb and he had some great combos.
