The Guile Video thread

You sir, have more patience than me. Had it been me, I probably would’ve tried to rush him down and lost.

However:

 1. cr.hk, you saw how many times you got punished for it when he blocked it (like all the time).

 2. several times you missed some BnB combos and settled for cr.lp, cr.lp instead. Try to incorporate that s.hp into the end of that combo.

Nice comeback. You gotta control the spacing better with your Sonic Booms. Too many jab SBs were thrown out. Also work on charging with db -> f+any punch; then immediately down back. This is a very effective method that allows Guile to get back on the offensive and follow up with a Flash Kick.

Try not to hug the corner; I know this Gouken seemed gdlk to you, but more use of air throws, st. fierce and tacking on st. fierce at the end of any cr. lk, cr. lp-type combos would add a lot more pressure. The player attempted to pick you apart in the same fashion as the average shoto would. With time and experience, you’ll become more accustomed to using all of Guile’s tools, thus allowing you to shut down players.

As soon as I saw the j.hk into c.hk, I turned the video off.

I didn’t see the video, but that’s a little elitist. Sometimes, due to spacing, j.hk to c.hk is the most damaging combo you can land.

he did it close range, if the other guy was really good, he would punish that sooo bad.

He did punish it. But yes both players are pretty mediocre.

Oh, ok.

Yeah.

Don’t do that.

It doesn’t matter if it was a good idea or not, the point of this thread isn’t only to see the super badass guile players play, there’s enough of those videos to satisfy anyone’s needs: more importantly, I feel this thread is a great venue to show videos of yourself, so that people can critique you and help you out.

It’s pretty counter-productive to shut someone’s video off because of a newbie mistake, rudely telling them that you did so is also pretty unnecessary.

People need to be able to come here and learn from their mistakes: it’s not exactly encouraging to know that people won’t even bother watching your video if you happen to make them and simultaneously ridicule you for it.

Nahhh, its no big deal.

The boys are just saying that my Guile needs work and I’m ok with that.

It was the comeback I made that I more or less was emphasizing and not my skillz(hell i know that I’m not that good.)

Thanks for the tips anyway guys and I promise when I post another I will bring less mop and pale and fight more on a clean floor.

lulz

Thanks again for the pointers.

Looks to me like the Gouken started goofing off after the second round. There were many times where he could’ve beat you but decided not to. I know you must feel good about the comeback, but give it a few days and watch it again.

Agreed

The random spin kick and blowing a whole meter on his super cross screen.

As I commented in the vid. I shouldn’t have won.

Just trying out my video camera on my phone so here is my replay on PSN in a G1 final versus a Gief. Quality is pretty terrible.

http://www.youtube.com/user/blitzjs

You dominated that pretty hard O.O

I’ve seen worse quality. Good shit. What did that say, you’re at ~17500?

5 MP camera but pretty disappointed in the video quality.

Its hard to make out but it says 17521.

here is me vs Gouken. I felt in the zone at the time and everything fell into place. I feel that being aggressive against gouken is the best way of fighting him whilst watching for the command reversal

Vs Ryu

Didn’t land 2-3 hit combos, but had to control space and zone this Ryu who is more on the defensive style. this was on a 3 bar match against a japanese XBL player

good work Blitz, you are at G1 at least. I’m not too far behind now

You got away with some dangerous booms - one of the giefs down here ex flats through the bulk of my fast booms and then it’s all over (cross-up bollocks). Specifically dangerous ones are:

 • boom that gief lands into
 • close-range wake-up booms

I use a little more b.hk action as I get a good yield from that shiz.

Also, try opening against Zangbeef with a back-fist for shits and giggles - you’d be surprised at how often you’ll get a freebie. Oh, and after hitting with a back-fist, try another one - it’s insane how often that works.

Awesome! Sounded like you had right there in the room with you!:bgrin:

hey guy won a turny sat holding it down with guile heres one of my video from the grand finals and yes i did use crouching round house alot only because i noticed he wasnt caping on it so i was waiting for him too and when he did i was going to change it to crouching mid but he did lol
