The Guile Video thread

Hey, founds this vid off of NSB. Pretty solid Guile player, around 30,000 or so BP. Anyway, NSB Guile matches are embarrassing, as they usually show Guile getting destroyed. Anyway, Guile is here for about 80% of this vid, and then C.Viper comes in to take out the rest of the garbage.

Bringing back a vid from the post back, i just had to comment after watching this vid Guile vs. Sagat, wow is all i can say, SOLID gameplay and one of the most hardworking Guile’s ive seen in a youtube to date vs. Sagat. i was on the verge of screaming yes when the flashkick punted sagat across the sky lol.

One thing I never really looked at but, am I reading it correctly when it says this person has played 7k+ matches as Guile?

I usually just look at the winning percentage but man that is a lot of matches.

Well, the trick that fuerte runs into with many matchups is that actually scoring that initial knockdown is easier said than done. Flashkick is worthless in this fight. Boom’s are probably less important in this matchup than in almost any other. So what do you have over fuerte? Priority normals in both air and ground.

If you stay active and very mobile, throwing out lots of random s.hk, backfist, j.hp, and air throwing there really isn’t much that fuerte can do to get in on you very easily. If you can manage to rush him down, do it, because his answers to rush down are pretty weak. Once he has an ultra stocked, tone down your boom usage and jump forward usage a bit. Also, on his wakeup, c.lk is a good safe meaty that can’t be ultra punished.

My fuerte matches, even against good japanese fuertes, normally ends up having me look like a scrub, jumping around like a jackass, throwing out random ass j.hp and hk, doing seemingly random backdashes and FA’s from mid-full screen, and just playing guile not like guile. You have to think out of the box if you want to keep him out and win.

Any talk of his wakeup game is pretty redundant. But still, backdash works well as it usually gives you a chance to quick rise after, breaking the cycle. You can still get grabbed out of it and it’s still a guessing game. Hope that you guess right. Once you do though, elf has to go back to the drawing board.

Ugh, this should have been in the matchup area. Anyways, i would venture to say that guile’s worst matchups are ryu/sagat/akuma, viper, and blanka. Viper feels like it’s getting easier for me though… it’s another matchup that requires you to play very different than normal. Every other matchup is manageable IMO, enough to where if i get beaten I feel like I’ve been genuinely outplayed.

here i am in some casual matches and playing as my usually scrubby self :). I was pretty careless on some parts even though i did get the job done in the end. I am not using the fact that I was tired at 11.30pm as an excuse either :lovin:

This one is against Ryu again using the Mighty Bison :lovin:. Again I got a bit careless experimenting with a TAP to see if it countered a Hurricane kick, but lucky not to eat a DP. I lacked Dudleys finess this time around

Hell, the headbutt gets stuffed on cross up as you can see as like Guiles Flask kick. :arazz:

I shall take your advice, wise one.

On a side note… You are a Remy player like myself, when was the last time you played Remy? I just logged onto 2DF, and I was trying to cross up. Still beastly though.

Haha, I haven’t played 3s in forever. I need a new avatar… I barely even played remy much to be honest.

The second Chun match is one of the reasons why I hate ultras.

Fujisawa goes up against the best E.Honda player in Japan Akimo, with a surprise ending. Fujisawa is pretty beastly with Guile too

great ending. awesome dash forward ultra to bait the attack and then a great focus bait for the head but into a lk lp lp mp super combo

great stuff with such low life. mos def a clutch move;

Fujisawa is a true professional.

So unorthodox, so crazy.

Personally, I’d only do that like once a tournament maybe. So risky.

Amazing videos LOL thnx for posting

After all this Fujisawa love, I watched a few more. 1:34 on this video stood out:

Looked like Fujisawa was fishing for airthrows after a certain point.

Even Fujisawa has a hard time with ELF.

Currently combing through the 5v5 stream to get all the time’s of Dagger_G’s matches. Can someone else go through the tournament stuff?
