I watched the Akuma one, and Viper. :crybaby: You beat ELF though, the toughest match up in my opinion.
The Akuma had a quick DR setup when you jumped though.

It’s a pretty easy matchup when you get the hang of it. You just have to play a differently than you do in most matchups. What in particular are you having trouble with?

the hardest part is getting out of the wake-up game. imo, you just have to guess right once to escape.
I find it tough to get in close and the only way I can beat a decent EL is if I play it a little like Gen and keep him on the ground.
Shouldn’t keeping your opponent grounded be your goal in any matchup? And why would you want to get close to Elf, seems your goal should be opposite of that. Not that I am any better at the matchup (haven’t faced any Elf’s), but it appears your goals are all wrong.

I have a hard time on the wake up, ELF has so many tools to just beat you down. Throwing too many sonics can get you ultra’d easy. ELF also has an air throw. Not to mention he’s very fast, and is all over the place, I have to charge x4234324 faster than I normally would.
Who is the hardest match up for Guile in your opinion?

Thanks man, it’s just the other two guile players the people I play with know are Slinkun and Fuson. Fuson is semi retired, and Slinkun is over seas, so I’m suppose to fill their boots as the socal guile, and to be honest, I can’t. Some of the players here like SoMuchDamage, Calipower, and UTJ just destroy me. I still feel my zoning sucks ass, but I am trying to work on it :rock:

Any general ideas you have would be well received by all, I imagine.
I usually stay grounded for most Fuerte players and refrain from using your c.hk if you can at all costs. I usually end up throwing booms from the opposite end of him to give myself distance incase he tries anything funny. Usually when you throw the 3rd boom or so, he’ll do a wall jump in which case you can usually air throw.
Most Fuerte players who knock me down are from the mid - low life area and begin spamming me to death with his 3 run and tortilla/splash/sweep move which is god awful annoying and to me personally, more annoying than a Sagat.
I hope that helped a little…
