lol.
Here’s the most recent Dagger G videos (taken on June 12, 2009). This is from a tournament which he won (stayed in winner’s bracket throughout the tournament) here in Hawaii:
FOR AMERICA!!!

Dagger G (Guile) vs. Erikbuild (Sagat) - Grand Finals:
Thanks for the links, its been a long time since I’ve seen any of his vids. He has such a unique play style with Guile. He tends to just block instead of going for an AA and when he does go for AA he uses a variety of moves. I was shocked that he used df. hk and mk as much as c.hp, if not more.
He ran through that Rufus like it was training mode, very impressive. I wish he went to the SBO quals at Denjin, I would like to see him against some of So Cal’s best.
Damn Dagger G don’t take no shit does he? His checking abilities are awesome. It’s like you can’t get any bullshit in against his Guile. Impressive.
Oh. Mai. Gawd. Dagger_G is my hero :lovin: . How does he keep getting better? His understanding of Guiles normals is so impressive. I need to footsie like that…
Freaking Amazing.
Here’s another video from that same tournament. I think this was winner’s finals:

Yeah, Dagger G’s understanding of footsies is crazy. Seriously this is the style I most try to master. I guess footsies is as important to Guile as it is to Chun-Li and Shotos. I have a tournament today, I’m going to look at these videos until I know them by heart. If anything for motivation, pray that I don’t go get deuced again.
Dagger G’s spacing is something to aspire to!
Fearless use of normals to counter all moves making them second guess throwing anything out. (i’m usually the one second guessing)
Constantly moving & throwing out moves while hiding charges. Nothing flashy, just basic combos.
Very nice use of EX FK during Shoto c.mk > fireball combo.
I still get sad whenever I see FK > FADC into nothing
sb >FADC> Target Combo for one overhead attack is sad to watch too, but again Guile needs everything to win.
Good job sir
Good stuff Dagger_G!! :lovin:…you have proven that Guile is tournament viable after all!!! Keep it up!
Dagger G has some very impressive, yet attainable moves. He seems to use focusing a lot more than one might think is standard for a guile player. I think focusing isn’t used enough to be honest. it’s the best way to set up any ultra without burning meter for it.
Yeah, I love Daggar_G’s, Yoshio and Fuson styles although I think different styles suit different people. Dagger_G appears to be very confident with the use of Guiles tools and he is pretty aggressive and never allowed his opponents to settle and started piling on the pressure early and got them on the back foot.
But I try to blend the various styles used by these guys into my gameplay without trying to replicate them, as I find that replicating a certain style can be hard.
Dagger ur definatley #1 with Guile in the U.S. buddy
What’s that strange uppercut in the middle of Dagger_G’s boom combos? is that just far st.mp?
damn Dagger is a beast.
Nice work, Dagger_G. Good use of dash to stay slippery.
s.mp(close) is a micro-uppercut; s.mp(far) is a strange kind of hook punch.
Here are some vids from ModInside’s youtube channel. I think he’s at 45k+ gp.
As we would have already witnessed from watching Dagger_G, FADC the LP Sonic Boom and then landing a few hits can be employed as part of a semi rushdown strategy to put pressure on the opponent.
This is “another string to the bow”. So If you use to go on the offense, you will build up your super bar pretty quickly. Therefore FADC a SB does have its time and place. I’m not certain how many of you guys use this though. :wonder:
I almost never FADC unless one more hit will kill them. I think its kind of a waste of 2 bars just to overhead or run up and throw. It is useful every once in a while to mix things up, but overall I try to keep it stocked.
Only problem with Focusing fireballs is when they start to EX once they see you like to focus.
EX also causes knockdown & that could lead to crossups.
I play a lot of ryu’s online who wait & just turtle up fireball, s.hk, c.hk, dp
They could care less about conserving bars.
Seriously when i do that people just will take the (fadc fireball) overhead i mean im pretty sure guile has no frame advantage or little after it (the overhead), but it keeps people guessing.
Honestly though I prefer a minamalist style of play for myself, though.
