The Guile Thread

I checked and air throws dont take away red life. The back breaker looks so awesome though that I’ll still use it every now and then.

Also not sure if this helps but Guiles close standing lk links into both standing and crouching medium punch.
I’ve been finding its easier to hit confirm boost combos with lk. Maybe its just me.

I’m actually loving Guile right now…yeah the health nerf sucks but the new cHP is godlike…it still trades every now and them but most of the time it flat out beats kazuya and hei ridicolous J HK…its so amazing the effect that causes on some Hei players…i had a guy jump at me and gotten beat 3 times in a row by it…it was like he could’nt process losing his awasome jump lose to a normal…by the way…air grab was good but i suspect its even better now…i suspect they stealth buffed some chars airgrabs in the same way regular throws were…they are now 5 frames start up…never seem Guile able to airgrab so low…the airgrab buff seems aparent in Vega too (I run Vega/Guile)

I’ve coped with the new Guile. I don’t really do combos anymore tho, and go straight into launcher most of the time. Since Paul can now relaunch (HK Shredder, Launcher), I can bring guile right back in. Gave him +40% meter on launch, +40% meter on partner launch and +80 absorb 5 hit+ combo. it’s ridicilous how fast the 3 bars are full with 80% meter gain. And Paul can convert that meter into his super since he can land it in 358389439 ways. Gave him a +20% damage on super gem to make quick end whenever I land it.

c.lp, c.mp a 1f link means I never go into flash kick anymore, since it’s too risky. I dunno why they made that change, it makes no sense.

c.hp seems unaltered to me. still a very vertical hitbox, but loses to empty jumps and is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo punishable.

I checked Guile’s c.mk~s.hk and c.mk~s.hp chains, and to my surprise,
it’s -11F and -12F. I’d have never guessed that ~s.hp is more unsafe (even if it’s just by a frame).<br>I
also checked c.mk~c.hk Switch cancel on first hit. Now there is a gap
where they can attack, but if they block the second hit, you’re at +25F
with the second character.<br>

No one has posted here recently. I see many ppl lost faith in guile after 13, I can understand since he was cut down quite a bit. However, I love him as my lead character. I played with him since sf2 so imo his zoning is second to none. Great at creating space and maintaining it as long as u play him right. I either anchor blanka or Paul with him and they are hard to beat. come check me out on psn, he may not be considers top tier but I guarantee that the laws and kazuyas out there will not run through my guile

Yeah Guile got hurt a lot, but a lot of the tekkencast have a big problem with Guile zoning them out.
