Hey guys this was my 1st tournament i really made alot of mistakes i tried hard but what can i say my Necro didn’t have a great day, i didn’t corner trap very well (nervous i guess) i know i have been known to crap talk alot in the past, the truth was because i couldnt find any good 3s players thank god i found them all at once ready to own me hahah… anyways i was the white guy with the blue shirt using necro, i had fun and met a bunch of ppl and faces to match the tags… good games everyone i hope to enter any other tournament that is out there from now on… take care guys
P.S oh and by the way the busy days at york are usually at lunch time most ppl like jeff don, melvin show up along with a lot of other good players, and it remains busy untill like 5pm
but i show up in the afternoons weekdays so if anyone wants to own me up let me know
guys you all need a reality check. these are games ur playing, not wars that decide boundaries or who gets to live and who doesnt. try to remember that and you’ll suddenly see how stupid this flame war is. it was a good tourney…lotsa skill/talent…people had fun. dont ruin it with this shit. dont wait until your mommy drives u home and u can start nuking ppl from behind the safety of the internet. if u have something to say, take your head out of ur ass and say it like a man.
thats all there is to it.
no i didnt go and no im not a bitch to any of u fucktarts.
i go to seneca@york and i didn’t enter, but i’m new to the tournament scene (and new to the games mentioned) and would have liked to see the matches if i knew about this earlier…
will there be any more tournaments on the horizon? i better hurry up and get a stick and start practicing then…
i really had no idea the fighting game scene was so alive at york…otherwise i would have gotten back in the game earlier…
what’s the difference? campus cove is the arcade with 3S (along with other fighting games)…is there another machine in the campus?
and yeah, the days i’ll stop by are monday and thursday afternoons…i have tuesdays and wednesdays off, and people have told me that there’s not as many people on fridays…
i won’t be playing though…mostly just watching and seeing how the matches are played…
exactly. it’s one thing to watch and see how the games are played… but the only way to really find out is the play man. if you’re worried about ppl bashing you because of what you read here, you’re worrying for nuttin.
most people at york, orbit (and waterloo cove) are fairly nice guys. i know when i was first learning 3s (and i still am), most of the guys were more than willing to give me advice on strategies / combos, etc etc.
well, you’re right…i was there this past monday and watched someone get owned in three straight rounds, but someone else was watching him and giving him a little advice between rounds…
it’s just that i’m getting a joystick soon, and i’m thinking it might be able to help me practice combos and other things at home before bringing my game to the arcade…
speaking of which. justin, i need to talk to you sometime in the near future about tournaments.
starburst (that means all the coves & orbit) have started something called KO Tournaments. It serves as both a VIP card for computers, but also, being a KO member means that you’ll get cheaper registration (orbit will cover the rest for pot) into tournaments run by us. In addition to this, my boss has informed me that the first KO member to win 10 KO tournaments (in any game, as long as their run by KO… in other words, me or any other staff), will win a bonus $500
Now, i’ve spoken with some people, and let me clarify
I do not plan to, nor will I, change the way tournaments are run when it comes to fighting games. Orbit will not take a cut of the pot (as long as i have a say in it)
The main reason for us running the tournament is because I (we) want to keep you customers playing at OUR locations as much as possible. (in other words… cancel your tournament at metro)
… i know i should post this on a seperate topic, but i’ll do that after i talk to the main gta tournament organizers (justin, eric, etc etc)
yeah, i do see your point. i’ve been meaning to get a ps2 / dc and practice at home myself. but i don’t wanna mess up my balance b/w school / work / gf
also, i’d recommend dlding vds. but don’t rely on them. personally, i don’t think anything can compare to real practice against real players
