The GranGlue Fighter Lounge: Corona Virus bodied Shadaloo Free AF

Playing on Parsec is like trying to play football, but the ball is covered in sandpaper and you’re dribbling with the tops of your fingers, except there’re no nails on the ends.

Man I hope she’s playable. Her inclusion would make my ‘might buy’ into a ‘definitely getting the game.’ . Still excited for the game though.

About the next trailer, I think it would be a more general one since Faust’s didn’t have a teaser and we still don’t know much about the story.

I-no’s really weird since along with being a time traveling witch bitch, she’s also in no way human. More of an idea given a body than an actual person so age is iffy on her. Age in GG is a moot point anyway since most of the cast don’t have a defined one. You have to just infer how old they are.

Fun Fact: Because of her backstory, Baiken is either close to or over a hundred years old.

For MvC2 in the file you gave me, it doesn’t have all the characters unlocked. Is that normal? Do I have to grind to get them?

It works out pretty good for certain games. I use it a lot for Marvel vs Capcom 3. It seems that for the ReDream emulator it is really hit or miss. Sometimes it’s great other times it is a buggy and unresponsive mess. Mvc2 really be the offline game :frowning:

You have to go to the boot up screen and go to the bottom left corner that has the vmu icon and “load” in the mvc2 save file.

Is that already in the application?

It’s in the actual game when you start it up in redream. Does it show a menu that let’s you select mvc2, cvs2, etc?

Yeah it does, I’ll try that rn. Thanks.

Alright so where do I go from here?

Boot up the emulator, open the hacked cdi/rom/whatever file type it is and then wait for the game select screen to load up

Bottom left. Click on the vmu and load up mvc2 save data.

Awesome. I’ll test it rn. Assuming it works, will it work every time? Or do I have to repeat this every attempt?

Damn, I was really excited with this RetroArch emulator having netplay in it… Too bad it’s a mess to setup.

I did reach out to a few Toronto locals and asked about MVC2 but no one was really playing it. They all moved on to DBFZ.

Seems like my only chance may be driving to your neck of the woods. Not that I’m opposed to it, but I was hoping to be able to find a way to play online as well…

Seems like an odd choice to grind a game that I can’t really get matches in often… It’s such a good game though that I honestly wouldn’t mind labbing it, even just for a few hours a week or two, so that I can do something when an offline opportunity presents itself. I have to see.

Did you look up a MvC2 Discord?

It’s kinda shocking that you’re needing to figure all this stuff out yourself, I thought Mahvel was more popular than that.

I haven’t in awhile tbh. Last time I did, everyone was saying to use Demul (which runs it poorly, IME) and Parsec.

I may give it another look though. It’s been a few months.

It should keep the save loaded until the end of time or you mess with certain settings on the emulator. Enjoy!

All of the actually good players are long gone from that scene. They sometimes host a retro night at “The Hive” venue with the TorontoTopTiers promo but it’s not exactly the pinnacle of mvc2 competition. Just a bunch of dudes having fun which is dope but if you want to actually learn the game, you might have to look elsewhere.

As far as online is concerned, you could try to scout out a PSN or Xbox Live account that has the game but it’s going to be pretty expensive and not totally legit either.

Always welcome to London to play. If you give me a heads up, I’ll haul the Dreamcast set up. I also might be free for the next few weeks, so I might take a trip to Toronto sometime soon.

Sounds good. I’ll definitely lab it for a bit in the next few weeks, just to get a better understanding of the mechanics, my new team synergy, and learn some combos.

I’d like to at least feel competent in it. Despite playing it for so long in the past, I was just a casual dude, mashing in arcade mode. I’d be embarrassed to play a seasoned player today, so at least feeling like I have an actual handle on it should be done, purely out of my respect for the game.

I’ll also start giving MVCI the attention I think it deserves. It really is my favourite tag game since MVC2 but I’ve let a few stupid things prevent me from digging in too much, which is wack on my part.

Will keep labbing BFTG too.
