Think you meant its merits for competition which is a whole different set of conversations. Whether something is good for competition is a different breed than if its fun etc.
As far as SF games go, I think SF4 was fantastic as a tournament game. It gave people enough tools in their characters to do different things with them and rewarded studying situations. SF5, on the other hand, doesn’t give good enough pay outs on those things; which I feel makes it trash for tournaments.
I say that the top tier are full bullshit that takes the kusoge up to eleven.
Is just that they offer an interesting scenario where the competitive scene could flourish.
But that’s the idea. It’s kusoge like Mahvel. The whole idea was to make it Anime Crack.
Like, you may not like or agree with the design choice. I for example, don’t have even a shred of interest in BBTag. Why? Because I don’t play FGs. Because I don’t like the breakneck pace of Mahvel-esque games. That doesn’t mean it’s poorly executed.
As long as the top 8/winners are consistent in tourney play, I consider the game competitive. Games where you are going to have constant upsets all the time is where you have to start thinking if a game is worth your time imo
Which emulator and/or Hitbox are you using? I didn’t have a problem with NullDC, ReDream, or RetroArch, and my Obsidian modded Hitbox.
Edit: I suspect it’s may be your Hitbox. Here’s no reason a stick should work over a Hitbox, unless the board just isn’t communicating with the PC right.
Dunno. Shit doesn’t work, keeps telling me the Hitbox is disconnecting perpetually.
It’s fine though. I can play on stick. I need to find out how to rebind the buttons for Retroarch though, it’s fudging up my button layout so that my buttons are:
LP - MP - -
LK - MK - HK - HP
and I have no idea how to switch up where the HP button is located since the button plainly isn’t registered in the ingame menu for CvS2. Got any idea how to fix this?
