Consider that perhaps, going for the offense in that matchup and what you did during the match wasnt really playing like a retard.
You cant expect to play every matchup the same way with your char.
Also, exploting the weakness of your opponent is part of the game.

It is a more gounded game.
But you still have more options to play in your neutral game than just wiggling the stick and wiffing normals.
Chars like Metera and Ferry that have more aerial options to apporach in the neutral beyond the ground spacing game.
