Side note - I tried to get into modern Assassin’s Creed games dozens of times, tried them, really wanted to like them, never could like them. Was bored within minutes, every time.
Tried the free Odyssey trial over this weekend, and fuck me, I’m addicted to that game now. A friend tells me the game has 100s of hours playtime, and he’s still not bored, and right now it’s £20 or so. Also, the game’s stunning:
Am pretty confident it’ll keep me occupied for the coming weeks.

In fact i say is on par with animes like Violet Ever Garden, where everyone looks extremely pretty.
The metal thing is not about the char desings not being anime, that is stupid.
GG has always been a blend of Metal and anime.
Is about the aesthetics of their design, like Ino, Sol, Eddie demobic form and the visual shout-outs to music.
Like Elphet being a huge guns and roses reference.
Plus the aesthetics of the GUI, fonts used, etc.
Strive doesn’t have any of that because they are aiming to tone it down.
They explicitly said it on an interview.

Odyssey is a fantastic game on basically every single front. The only gripe I have with it is since its “sparta focused” is it really, really, really glosses over how awful sparta was as a state. Normally the AC games don’t pull punches that much even if its just really background stuff but since Sparta is such a forefront part of the game I am sad they didn’t go more into it.
Sparta is the worst slave state in human history, makes american slavery look like a pleasant weekend, google “helot” if you wanna learn more I guess but yeah it just glosses over it. Like a rite of passage to becoming a man is to find a helot and murder them in cold blood. Like yeah sparta had better womens rights and shit in comparison to the rest of the greek world at the time(not so much persia/iran though) but there is a lot more bad than good.
But other than that vidja game good and fun 
The next one for the ps5 launch will be about vikings and we all know vikings are rapists and murderers and society as a whole we seem to be plenty ok and cool with that cause we love viking shit so they don’t gotta hide that stuff as much I guess.
