Man, two of the local “plays every game”-dudes want to get me into CvS2 on emulator + parsec
I actually really want to, but I’m juggling Tekken, GBVS, Stardew Valley (with my wife, so this one is very important) and WoW classic atm and really can’t be assed into trying to pick up another game right now. Shitty timing.
CvS2 is the goat game. You have to play it. Maybe drop wow classic?
I’m probably cancelling the WoW subscription (I got to revisit MC and do raid healing, that’s all I really wanted), but the remaining games still take up a lot of time.
Dunno how much time I wanna spend on CvS2 too. I did some training mode stuff in the game like 4-5 years ago on emulator. Roll cancels went fine, surprisingly, but comboing into supers was surprisingly tough, and that’s pretty necessary to play a lot of the cast afaik. Current planned team is N-Hibiki/X/Sagat, with the X probably being either Chun, Vega or Blanka.

The netcode “patch” has basically made the game useless outside of player matches, and even then the number of people has shrunk.
Play 30th.
That has a better netcode than most of the games y’all playing.

I took the day off (not covid19 related) and just played a bunch of 3S today and watched one of those SRK video guides they released when 3SOE came out and learned a crapload of stuff about Ken I never bothered to learn (and as such, forgot).
A lot of hard links and character-specific stuff, but I’m actually going to put in the work now.
Anyways, it was a good day… I’ll be up for playing 3S in an hour or two, if anyone is down. None of the new stuff has sunk in yet, so I’ll still be trash, but may experiment a bit more.

Are the hard links in 3s the same as sf4’s one frame links?
If you’re getting back into 3rd Strike there’s still high level matches being uploaded on gameacho youtube channel. Those guys have been grinding the game for 20 years lol.

I’m really not sure what the frames are like, but Ken has two links that are particularly hard for me…
- B+MK (on a crouching opponent), SA3
- c.MP, SA3 (you can cancel c.MP into SA3 but you can also link it which makes it easier to confirm).
Both links are very tight and feel like 1Fs but I could be wrong.

I almost smacked some dude just now because I was making shooting gestures with a pillow in my hand
I just lowered my arm and acted like nothing happened
just noticed this, Volt confused at people never playing a Zelda game when he’s never played a fighting game. 
Also Ken’s SA3 hits on frame 3 and cr.mp is +4 on standing and +5 on crouchers, so 2 and 3f link.
the b.mk link is 1f though.
