Yesterday it was raid night, one of the tanks in my static (raid group) is the leader of my Free Company (guild) we’re progressing through a fight currently, and it’s going slower than it should.
He’s not exactly the best player (he’s actually a clicker) which wouldn’t be a problem, but he also has a shitty attitude and most importantly can’t take criticism well, and most of the times he thinks people are criticizing him when they’re not.
One of our players had to leave early so we kept going with a replacement, a friend of one of our players who has already completed not just the fight, but the whole raid.
The FC leader did not know that.
So the new guy is asking for clarifications on our strategy, and in voice chat the FC leader, let’s call him Camy, says something along the lines of “who is this scrub?”. Worth noting that at this point we’re pretty deep into the night, and he’s already spent a good amount of the night being passive aggressive passive aggressive toward an healer, and we still haven’t gotten to enrage because he’s not been able to do a certain tank mechanic, not sure exactly why because is not like I can look at him in that part of the fight.
So anyway,
the healer who he was being passive aggressive toward has left the other tank is bored and asks if he can switch to a different tank class, they both do that. The “who is this scrub?” part happens and one of the guys in discord say to Camy “He’s better than you” and then explains how this dude has already cleared the whole raid.
Skip several wipes later and Camy complains that he is not good with this other class and asks the other tank to switch back, the other tank agrees, but Camy misunderstands the chat and in his head thinks the guy said no. Some more bitchiness in voice chat and I explain that he misunderstood and can go back to his original class.
Camy keeps saying “wait” at this point we’re already past what should be end raid time.
I tell him “just go back to Warrior! stop wasting my time”
answer: “I can’t, I already destroyed my weapon since you people say my Warrior is shit”
And that’s where I just disbanded the party and said “fuck this, I’m off to bed”
At this point in my head I’m like "holy fuck, if I play this well I can use this as an excuse to get out of FFXIV raiding and give that time to FGs.
I say nothing in discord for now, I want to make it brew a little because at this point my idea is coming the day after , saying I’m tired of dealing with dumb drama, I never asked to be the leader of the static, it was literally thrown on me and shit like that and say I’m done.
Sadly Camy accused me in discord of telling him his war sucks.
Now I’ve been nothing but nice to literally everyone in my static since I’ve been forced to lead, I’ve defended and helped the 2 players that are clearly behind the curve, Camy being one. And he gives me shit.
I was not gonna kick him, but right there and then I just wrote “Camy fuck off”… and he did.
I immediately contacted a DPS that had asked for a spot in the static a few days ago, got him in and I’m back to tanking.
TL;DR I had an out of raiding and my pride got in the way.
FFXIV is a game that require less investment than your usual MMO for starters.
I raid late at night 3 times a week from 10p.m. and 0.30 a.m. so children are sleeping, my wife gets me full time 3 days a week, on the week-end I play FGs.
I have had a little more week-end time lately because I tore a ligament in my ankle so the 3 hours on saturday and sunday aternoon I usually spend playing basketball are being reallocated to family/videogame time.
Also I went around and finished Kiwami 1.
The best part of the game was by far Majima being literally everywhere, he was not just a great character, but a great gameplay feature as well and also had my favorite Boss fight in the game.
But FUCK JINGU!!! When a Boss is only hard, cause he has Minions swarming you, then is the boss not good designed. After his Minions were down he had literally 0 Challenge left.
Nishki was pretty good and the end was heartwarming.
After that I went back to Zero to unlock the Dragon Style. Kiryus Pose during the unlock was the Cover of the Original Yakuza 1, that was pretty cool to see.
But the best Part about the Dragon Style, is the Theme that comes with it.
Fighting people to this theme is incredible. You bulldoze trough hordes of opponents with ease, performe some of the coolest Heat Actions in the entire game along with it and feel like an unstopable force, while this tracks plays in the background.
Really Zero might be one of my favorite games periode.
Kinda used to it at this point, seems that every other year during cold season I get injured. It costed me a promising volleyball career in my younger days, as in 16 and being in the national selection.
last time I did an x-ray of my left foot I had over 20 micro-fractures that didn’t calcify properly.
What’s unbelievably enraging is that despite the fact I was playing basketball when it happened, I wasn’t actually playing, we were in-between days and I took a step back, as in fucking walking back, and my ankle went “naaaaaaa! fuck this” and I crumbled.
did she wack before on it? when not its pointless and not comparable.
at least some of you might think for a second about it and thats already more then i expect.
